I'm quite happy on where we are, on course for about 50 points this season. What you got to look at is the bottom of the table and what they will get, I think Reading and QPR will definitely go down with either Villa or Southampton to get relegated. I think we will be safe with another 3 wins as the bottom teams are very very poor.
Dai sorry, but can you tell me what 2 games of the last for we lost at home. I seem to remeber we lost to norwich and drew with Man united. but maybe i am wrong.
Yes, we have dropped points against sides we should be beating. But, we have also picked up points against side when I expected very little. I remember looking at Novembers fixtures and thinking hard month this, the same could be said of December, and maybe every month in the premiership. From this season I would like to have a couple of good cup runs (one in the bag), finish mid table or there abouts. I donât really want to have a Europa cup place for next season, look what itâs done to Newcastle, Stoke and Fulham. Just carry on building the squad over the next few transfer windows.
Guys stop argueing about the lost points, look at the positives: JDG has to be the cheapest find of the year. Cost you guys nothing and had a big impact since week 1. You've got a new top goal scorer who is doing a way better job at it than Graham. And a manager that is a stable factor for the team and younger players. Compared to last season, Swansea has improved immensely in their passing game. Instead of getting 60% possession by passing from defender to defender, Swansea now has maybe less possession than under BR but they create more goals and more chances in front of the goal with it. The only worry that I personally have is Nathan Dyer, he's regressing rather than improving this season in my opinion. Steady as she goes and hopefully you guys might end up in a EL spot in May.
This season has been fantastic to be a swans supporter. Although we have lost games maybe we should have one. The football has been a joy to watch. The first half against WBA was the best football i have ever seen live. Would love a new striker and another winger. On the down side would like us just to be able to raise our game against the bottom clubs. that is the only minor criticism i have. ML and the players take a bow. A from me.
But we can't effect the past only the future so what's done is done, we can hope that the second half of the season will be better than the first.
Onwards and upwards! we have dropped points where we should have won them but that happens to every team in the world. I'm well happy with this half way mark and pushing top 6 could be a reality for us with a new striker and one or two squad additions after that. we look waaaay better now than under Brenda who looked waaaay better than Souza. Nice to see progression and a strong squad in the ,making. Boom.
I think i have to agree with Dai on this one. But I also feel that it has been our problem for years. We almost always play well against the best teams, while we have problems with the teams that are equal and worse than us qualitywise. At the same time I can't be anything else than happy about how we are doing at the moment. I don't think it would be good for us to progress to fast. There is a lot of teams that get into trouble when they qualify for Europa League. Look at Newcastle this year and Stoke last year. I'm pretty sure we'll avoid relegation and I hope for a top half finish!!
