Who told you it was Harper? I doubt that, he's been out of favour with Nigel recently, and with Neil Danns likely to sign he's gonna be even further down the CM pecking order.

I thought the Allam's wiped our debt out?

Unfortunately, I've also heard that Harper is in line for the captaincy next season.

Bloody disaster if it happens, as I don't think he'll make the starting XI, assuming we get the additions we're being linked with.

This would be a strange decision, surely if Harper was going to be captain he would be already having been here for a season? My point been, why didn't NP make him captain rather than Dawson when Ashbee left. If we're looking to bolster our midfield options over the summer then surely one of our priorities would be to find someone in the Ashbee mould to captain the team. Harper has experience on his side, but he's not the type of player i can see taking the game by the scruff of the neck and giving his team mates a kick up the arse. I think (and hope) someone is playing silly beggars, and there's no way NP could make an informed decision on the captaincy until the start of next season whenj he knows what his options are.

We don't owe the Allams £40m, "we" ARE the Allams, therefore they owe themselves £40m, therefore they owe nothing and we owe nothing.

That being said the monies we have coming in from parachute payments will no doubt go to replace the £40m already paid out.

We borrowed MILLIONS from Investec for HUGE amounts of interest. As soon as the Allams came in they paid that off, probably from their own investment bank as nobody has £40m cash lying around. So they have saved us money by removing the debt to Investec. So there is now no debt. However, they will look to recoup that debt from the parachute payments.

It's all taking from one place to pay off another place.

BUT the interest is the big difference. Before, the payment of the interest to Investec (compounded) would have taken generations to pay off. In fact we would probably have been insolvent and out of business. Now the debt is no longer there, BUT the future parachute income will go straight into the Allams pockets to replace what they have paid off, and our future is secure.

Economics and business is definetely not my forte, however from everything ive heard in the media etc and from what the Allams said when they came in, he said buying the club was a 'gift' to the people of Hull and Tigers fans. I know he'll want some sort of return eventually (longterm) and their aim is to make the club run by its own means and income. Also I realise we had debts to Investec as well as the taxman. But my take on it was, that Duffen/Bartlett had basically taken advances on parachute payments for interest payments for wages and debts in the short term. However the debts that Allam cleared were on top of these?

No we don't. We'll only owe him it once he's provided the service his contract demands. He gets run over by a bus tomorrow we don't need to pay it out. If we owed him the money and he got run over we'd be due to pay it to his estate.

Yep, QPR will be worth about minus £30M now. (In their last accounts they were minus £15M and losing £14M a season. Repeat it and add in the near £1M fine they've been given)
