Just think that it shows a massive amount of selfishness by fans to be honest,maybe i'm being over critical but that is my feelings.At the end of the day the fans that went on the pitch didn't know the players were gonna come out onto the walkway so really they could of missed out as well,just shows a lack of thought,luckily for them they came out but for the rest of us we got nowt,not even a sight of adkins clapping us,oh well that's football as they say.
The announcements were just to cover the club's ass in terms of a legal backlash, there is still much more they could have done. I would have preferred it if while everyone was on the pitch, they rang through the stadium "Please may all fans clear the pitch so that a lap of honour can take place". That way the people on the pitch (who weren't exactly in a minority) have their fun, then get the chance to leave the pitch to allow everyone else to enjoy a celebration the way they wanted. But it didn't play out that way, c'est la vie.
Say whatever you want, nice attempt at trying to patronise me though.
I must also add that not all the fans that went on the pitch were at fault,many people went on because they thought they might as well seen as though they weren't gonna see anything from the stands.
Or, like I did, because everybody else was doing it and I thought I might as well as it would probably be enjoyable?
I'm sure it would have, however when you have people charging to the front before the game has ended (the one bit I did vehemently disagree with, that looked really dangerous) it's not like I was gonna sit and hope it'd clear out quickly for a lap of honour. I would have enjoyed both as would most people, I'd think.
Basically, those that invaded the pitch got a partial view of the players, those who stayed in the stands saw nothing. I got tickets for today so I will be ok. A great pity for those who do not. And what about those in wheelchairs? I would just like fans to think about that, and decide whether it was worth it or not?
These are you views, so fine. But next time maybe find a different way to express them. You come across quite aggressive, and yes some people do care. As I have already said, I would have personally preferred the invasion not to have taken place.

Well obviously quite a few people actually -Dan....... chose to stay in the stands. The club do care and will probably have to pay a fine for it, but hey you don't give a monkey's do you........the fact that some people would have liked to see the team with their familys doing a lap of honor, as they traditionally do. Just have a thought for other people before making comments like that........You are right about one thing though, to be fair had the club asked you all to leave the pitch you all would have done so, but they didn't so hey ho we lost out.
It was half 2 in the morning and I wasn't completely sober but yeah I see your point.
And whether there's a difference or not is irrelevant - the fans wanted to pitch invade on both occasions, on one the club set out police protection to prevent it, on the other the club seemed content to let people do it.
If the club have to pay a fine for it me, and everybody else on the pitch, will regret it I'm sure, though we definitely won't be the only club. And yes, people wanted to stay in the stands in the same way people wanted to be on the pitch. Had we all been confined to the stands missing out on a pitch invasion, would you be sparing sympathy for those who missed out on the opportunity to get on?
For my two-pence worth I stayed in the stands and by the time realised that there was no chance of a lap of honour (which is what I really was looking forward to as that would have been excellent to see the players walk round while the songs rang out) I wandered out. Bit of an anti-climax as I had my little boy and neither of us got to see the players celebrate even though we have a round trip of 230 miles, however main thing is we are promoted.
Oh, ok. lol.
Did they? No-one I knew, or saw, wanted to invade. And sitting down in the Itchen/Chapel corner for that match, I don't remember seeing any extra police presence around us. And yet yesterday, I noticed that that exact corner was jam packed with fans all standing down the front as the game moved into injury time.
Most of Northam was at the front of the stand shouting "ON THE PITCH ON THE PITCH ON THE PITCH!" to be greeted by a message on the big screen saying "Anybody who enters the field of play at any time during or after the match will receive a three year ban and faces prosecution" etc etc, with several announcements over the tannoy, and a whole line of policemen lining the front. As far as I could see it was only Northam and Kingsland North, nothing on the scale of yesterday, but still, if they were going to attempt to stop a pitch invasion they could have done more than they did yesterday, I think the club pretty much accepted it as inevitable.
I completely agree, it was inevitable. Rightly or wrongly, it was inevitable. If people from all around the stands are going to invade after a last day match against Burnley, when we've been relegated, of course they were going to invade after a last day victory when we've been promoted.
