A foot from the byline with 2 men in the center 10 yards from an open goal and he shoots. I'd sub him now for that sheer stupidity
Wrong decision but if the lad confidant from.scoring last week thought he could score you can't knock him too much for having a go. How about having a go at Oshea who once again gifted a team a goal 1-0 and where the feck was he for Rooneys goal. Liability that is only in the team because he won medals and Man Utd by being carried by quality players
I was watching this game like. Would be a good goal to score from the angle and at the near post. All he had to do is square it and its 2-1.
Just watched the lowlights, o'shea had a mare, got to look to strengthen the defence in january, looking well past his sell by date based on that performance mate
O'shea has been garbage everytime he has went back to OT. Personally would not have picked him for yesterdays game.
It looked like a deflected cross on match of the day Our defending was absolutely shambolic. Half decent defenders are now looking like the keystone cops
He made the wrong decision nothing worth slaughtering him over as i think he is improving. To be honest the amount of times Sess has me screaming for him to pass to James when he's free is ridiculous and leaves me thinking that they either don't get on or Sess doesn't trust him?
So, McLean is the unfortunate new scapegoat. We always have one, sadly. The lad has bust his knackers for the badge last 4 weeks and been massively improved, I think he deserves a break. Even if he is 1D, his willingness to keep grafting unquestionably is a benefit to the team.
Spot on MM.All three goals down the Right hand side (not Cuellar fault ) with little protection from anybody.I am not a big fan of Jimmy but he has scored more goals than Sess,AJ or Gardner. He does'nt deserve being made a scapegoat.
Guys he's not my "Scapegoat" as I don't believe in them and he has undoubtedly improved over the last few weeks - BUT - that one chance was guaranteed 2-1 going into half time - and we battered them after Titus Bramble left one of the best strikers in the game to walk past him with the ball in the box. McCleans' greed was the issue - in the second half he screamed when someone didn't pass the ball to him (think it was sess) but Sess at least got a shot which had a chance - rather than one where the odds of scoring are less than 1%. It was, IMO, a Balotelli moment and cost us more - a very slim chance of scoring vs an almost guaranteed goal with a pass?? This is not "scapegoat" it's just stupid - even a geordie said so!!
Not necessarily, his grafting can often leave us in trouble. I know he tracks back and defends but it's not a benefit to the team when he miskicks just about everything, giving the ball back to the opposition in dangerous areas. Im not going to slate and get personal about the lad. He's just never going to be a premiership footballer, in my eyes.
"It was, IMO, a Balotelli moment and cost us more - a very slim chance of scoring vs an almost guaranteed goal with a pass?? This is not "scapegoat" it's just stupid - even a geordie said so!! " If's and But's mate. It's easy with hindsight. What if he had scored? He is second only to Fletch with goals this season and does not deserve to be singled out as an idiot because he is not afraid to have a go or make a mistake. If you do'nt do anything you will never make a mistake(heard that from a Mag)
Let's keep his goals in perspective mate. 2 of them were against a very poor league 2 side, and 1 against a league 1 side. He has 1 league goal.
Van Persie had the ball in a similar position second half, looked up, saw Rooney and passed the ball - result = goal - Van Persie had more chance of scoring from his positionbut he made the decision that was best for the team - not for the player - and this, I think, is the problem.
Fair enough mate.Let's keep everything in perspective. 1. I doubt if Jimmy is good enough for the EPL. 2. He has scored more goals in all competions than everbody in the squad bar Fletch. 3. I don't think he is an idiot.
