TBH Trix, not much point getting worried by it, they won't bother giving him a match ban as he's out until the new year, so the worst that can happen is a couple of weeks wages fine.
Is that ****ing it!!!!! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4679621/andy-carroll-hammers-photographer.html
So are you saying that should this be the case you approve of him thumping someone because he got wound up? The other question is ..has he a past has he been in trouble before for outlandish behaviour? It is true we do not know the facts but the OP did explain where he got his information so while some of it may be misleading something most probably happened. We expect you to defend your loanee but it is not appreciated you coming on here and saying one of our posters was making something up until you know for sure. That kind of accusation will get you kicked off the board quicker than you can say it!!
Something did occur - see above link. If you read all of my posts, you will see that I simply said I will wait for the facts rather than believing some rumour on a rival fans forum. I see nothing wrong with that. Judging by the above link and the photo of the photographer - it seems it has been blown out of proportion anyway. The bloke has a black eye and that's it. It's not even had a mention on sky sports! So much for "splashed across all the papers"
Not so much as headline news, this kind of thing happens up and down the country every night of the week, it was their xmas party in Dublin nothing wrong with that, It is alleged that Andy Carrol tried to gouge his eye out, then in the next sentence he caught his eye when carrol made a grab for the camera, which seems to make sense, in MY opinion and i dont know for sure but i would tend to think that the lads had had enough of being snapped all night by photographers and carrol had enough, now stop trying to make it something that it isnt, oh and if nothing has happened at your club in the past and your all squeaky clean and never ever got into scrapes then i will let you cast the 1st stone. All the Best, Brookin
That's it you try and rationalise violence away as something that happens all the time. I suppose racist chanting and hissing at Jews happens all the time so is ok as well.
So you are saying when one of our lads got themselves in a bit of bother you lot didn't offer your opinions? Nobody tried to make it something it wasn't. Trouble is we don't have enough facts..and those written in the sun is no better. We don't however appreciate one of yours coming on here accusing one of ours of inventing a story simply because it was on here before it was in a newspaper!
This forum is getting more and more like an old womans day centre with all the gossip that goes on in here, man up the friggin lot of you. All the best Brooking
Yep. Carrol had a few too many and would appear to have given a photographer a clump for reasons unknown. It may have been unprovoked or the photographer might have kicked off. We will probably never know. I'm assuming none of you have ever got into fights whilst in your early twenties whilst out on the beer? I know I did and although it wasn't clever, I learnt from it and I wouldn't change it. All we have is the photographer saying Carrol gouged his eye, and West Ham saying the security staff had to restrain the cameraman after Carrol asked him to stop taking pictures. Pretty in-conclusive evidence and a TOTAL non-story.
Just one question irrespective of your views or my views on the incident or whether or not we think it is newsworthy. Given the celebrity culture of footballers, Do you think a footballer, particularly a very expensive flop, in a drunken scrap is going to make it in to the newspapers? My view is Yes every time it will (although I wish it wasn't) and therefore it is a TOTAL story to use your terms.
Well I suppose stuff like this will always make the news. Not in the "front page" way you were all hoping though.
Don't think anyone 'hoped' for anything. Must question the wisdom of a lads night out in middle of season though and we are basing that on past experience with Saints. I know some PL teams have banned these Xmas parties in the past for this very reason.
When you remember the furore over Barneys incident and the rubbish posted when Sebo had his problem you can kind of understand the way some of our own fans respond when they see it happening elsewhere?
Looks lads, it's a ****ing discussion forum. I'm sorry I haven't contributed more to the thread about the pronunciation of 'Fonte'. I told you what I had heard almost 24 hours before the papers did. We batted it about for a while, I honestly don't see what the problem is here.
So what if it's proved Carroll gouged his eye instead of just hitting it would you say it woild make a difference?.
Cheers for posting this, NIS. It seems that you had a credible source for the story and you posted exactly what the paper's claiming happened.
