I said a few days ago, I think how we play between now and January will decide what we buy. If we keep playing like we are at the moment, a few young prospects to add depth at the CB, LB and Winger positions. If we start struggling again, we may see a bit of money splashed on some proven top-level players to come into the first team. I expect Cortese and our recruitment team to put the feelers out to see if we can pick up any legitimate quality without having to pay a January-panic-buy fee, if we feel it's unreasonable we will probably wait until the Summer, when we can bring in some players who will be happy to join a proven quality Premier League team. ;)

If I was manager I'd try to buy Okore and a replacement for Morgan/Cork

Same starting XI with Okore in for Yoshida the only change. One bench player that can play defensive midfield. Done.

I'd even be tempted to do nothing. After all the team is looking great

Still think we will get a big named Cb to be our first choice, some one like Ogbonna.

We have to get at least one CB a bad injury and we're stuffed!

Yep all we have is Jos, that's why in Jan I can see two being brought in. Like I said in the other thread one first team and one younger but still able to be able to step up if needed.

Every time I see his name on this thread it gives me shivers. Please our mighty lord Nigel, guide Angelo to our Saintly Shores, and please oh great and omniscient Nicola... Get your cheque book out!

Yes please
Perfect transfer window would be

Douglas
Andreu Fontas (I know he's on loan to Mallorca)
Lucas Biglia
Jeremain Lens

:p:redface::bandit::biggrin:

I think that would be an imperfect window, purely because I think four signings would be too many. I'd be happy with one.

I kind of agree, the new signings from the summer are only just starting to settle in and bringing in a load more will be disruptive. I think two new players max really.

I think maximum of two or at the very most three players who would come into the first team or mount a serious challenge on it. So much of our play is based on our work as a team, and we've seen the impacts that chopping and changing had compared to three games unchanged. Don't want to unsettle again too much as things stand.

Then a couple of young or cheap players to come in and fill-out the squad and add depth.

What about an experienced LB for the short term while Shaw accumulates more experience? A young LB seems pointless, as Shaw is more than adequate for the future.

I'd be happy with a cb and lb, don't feel we really need too much else at the moment

Depends how confident we are of staying up. The advantage of a settled first eleven is you don't have to throw them straight in the team. Allows them time to get used to new surroundings, gives us better options with injuries and makes sure they are ready to go for next season.

Admittedly to big a risk for us at the moment or is it?
