Sorry if this has already been posted earlier.. but what an utter utter TWAT duffen still is. cop a load of this.. It was good to meet with the Allams and hear their plans for the Tigers. Also good to know that they know the truth. 28 Apr via Twitter for iPad Fabulous finish to the season in the Championship. What might have been if the Tigers had embraced Jimmy Bullard as Ipswich have done. 22 Apr via Twitter for iPad http://twitter.com/#!/paulduffen lots of talk about city on there.. seems like the guy is living in the past. also would love to know what this means "Also good to know that they know the truth" when he met with the allams...
What a ****er. "Whatever happens in the last 2 games this will be the Tigers second best finish in the past 30 years. Now just need Spurs to do the same!" Err, surely finishing 17th in the Premiership and 3rd in the Championship the season before equals 2 seasons better than this one. Did Bullard really win Ipswich player of the season despite playing only 16 games? Not sure if that says more about him or the rest of their squad?
The Allam's agreed to meet him out of 'courtesy' apparently: http://daringtodream.footballunited.com/2011/05/03/hull-city-owners-admit-to-duffen-meeting/ Not a great idea, they should have just told him to do one.
Clearly we don't know anything about what really went on. I've always suspected Duffen was made a scapegoat. (I'm not saying he's blameless)
Duffen was no scapegoat, he was guilty as charged and coughed up as a consequence. I bet AP wishes the Allam's weren't so courtious.
The Allam and duffen meeting was pretty inevitable I'd imagine. As much of a clueless prat duffen was I don't think he ever intentionally set out to knacker the club, and probably still doesn't even fully realise the extent of his complete bollock-dropping powers. He might have just wanted to put his side of the story across just for the record if nothing else, the allams, as owners would probably even benefit from that from a business point of view.
If that were the case than I doubt the Allams would meet him, even out of courtesy. Duffen was made a scapegoat in the fact that clearly Bartlett was at fault for the financial situation, yet his genius (I genuinely mean it) decision to employ Adam Pearson quickly deflected attention away from him and onto Duffen. Duffen may have had to watch the finances better, but it's amazing how one PR stunt can deflect away the majority of the blame from a clearly inept/careless owner.
Twf'y do you seriously believe that crap you have written, or are you hoping that some gullible people are going to believe it because you have included some big words????????
Big words? As for "the crap I've written"... I believe that Duffen isn't as at fault as people make out on here, yes.
Bartlett was way out of his depth, he is ultimately responsible for the position the club ended up in, but he was naive rather than crooked. Duffen was just crooked. The settlement, under the condition of no public disclosure, prevents me from posting any details on here, as I'd drop people in it, but he was a crook.
