That's the rumour of the amount borrowed, how much did we did we spend in the transfer window? Coincidence? Possibly.
I dont know but then again football forums are all opinions, rumours and spelling competitions for the more troubled souls. I heard about it through my brothers work, he works in offshore money. Take it or leave it but one thing is for sure and certain, there was a loan and it was taken out by the club OR on the clubs behalf, there is nothing wrong with that other than transparency and I thought we were not going to spend sky's money.
There is no conspiracy about them, they existed. I think you refer to what they are alleged to have done possibly?
Ummmm, how do you expect any team to compete without utilising the funds supplied by the very competition they take part in? Did your brother tell you we were going to buck the trend of every sports team ever in the history of sport?
when has anyone ever said that? The whole idea of the sky money is to give the clubs the resources to compete with the best clubs in the world. Without it this league would be the same standard as the championship and 3 quarters of the players you see in the league today would be playing abroad.
Well yes, but as far as I know they could be a punch of pretentious nobodies who just get together every so often and play golf. I want to know what you think they are/were up to.
So Manchester City only spend the money sky gives them? Or Liverpool? West Ham for that matter? The worrying thing is we spent before we had the money from sky, why? Why did we not just loan from the Leibherrs at a favourable rate? That's more than possible.
Probably playing golf as you say but again speculation and we don't do that on this forum it appears.
YAWN. lol. Somebody doesn't actually watch the games. Somebody feels ashamed when his other friends wearing Manchester shirts make fun of lowly Southampton. Get with it. Watch the games. Wear your shirt with pride and then take a look at sides from the past before retracting your 'worst Saints side you;ve seen in the Prem' This is far from the worst and a few of those that survived were possibly worse than our championship side let alone this one. Get a grip and come back with some sensible criticism. Welcome to your own opinion but at least base it on some thought rather than hallucination.
Name me a worse Southampton side? I can't and I wish I could, this has nothing to do with being ashamed of my team, embarrassed we are that naive we went into it with a poor side and poor signings yes but never ashamed in the slightest. I knew this was going to be controversial and for that I apologise but thats the way I feel, every game we have played there has been a defensive blooper, how many teams have that honour?
The team with Hurlock in it was dire for a start!!! A lot of those side didn't seem as bad purely because MLT was making up the difference. Bring them into the modern day and players like MLT wouldn't make that difference anymore. They add a bit to the side but not the massive difference that it could make 10-20 years ago. Anyways I'm gonna watch the highlights on MOTD now because was on the train still last night.
I will also add why is any positive piece on Southampton/Cortese and Adkins perceived as superb pieces of journalism and yet any one that remotely criticises or questions is a shoddy work and idle speculation ? That's not fair and a good way to do things, we all have our own thoughts and opinions and to some extent they are all valid.
That isn't the case though. Many of us understand we haven't got as good a squad as we should have but we have what we have for now. To say this is the worst top flight side we have ever had is blindingly wrong. We looked a much better side than Swansea. We looked a much better side than Fulham first half and probably equal to them second half. The results didn't come in either but we are matching or bettering some teams without th end rewards. Many of those eighties and nineties Saints sides would be outplayed for huge swathes of the match, just that their opposition had the same luck as we are having at the moment I think we'll probs go down, however I don't think this side is anywhere near as bad as some of those sides that scraped to safety.
