Why not? Fulham gave it a good go at Old Trafford recently and I'd expect them to be going there playing their usual football which is quite attacking.
They've got Berbatov now. Rio Ferdinand says that it felt like a loss because they conceded a late, largely meaningless goal against Arsenal. Damning.
Without being pedantic Dembele is a bigger loss than Berbatov is gain. Berbatov has always been a home player anyway.
I couldn't catch the game today, and saw a lot of gloating from Spurs fans that we lost with a goal difference away at Man Utd., I just assumed you guys are winning or have won your game. The livescore service I frequent is showing you guys down to the mighty Wigan at home, though. Can someone watching the game confirm if this is true?
You were awful. Very lucky to get away with only 2-1 Utd wasted a hatful of chances. Does that answer your question?
I don't think anybody is in a position to gloat today, although there's no shame in losing 2-1 at Old Trafford with 10 men.
Did you watch it? We were **** today and deserve to get slagged off for it, but so were Arsenal. They literally didn't manage a shot on target until injury time and only scored because Utd were coasting and went to sleep. David Moyes must fancy 4th place this season.
Yeah they were awful, United weren't great but didn't need to be. Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea were all **** today and it's just proof we don't have enough to challenge the Manchester clubs.
Maybe even 3rd. Can we really say Chelsea are that much better than Everton? Everton a team who hammered Swansea there and could have scored double figures. Apart from the Manchester clubs, nobody is guaranteed top 4.
Only if you didn't watch the game, they were crap. An away draw at Swansea isn't so bad though, losing at home to Wigan is definitely the worst of the bunch though.
If it's any consolation they've won at Anfield and the Emirates this year as well. The only thing that makes it worse for Spurs is that City and Arsenal away are your next 2 games. Chelsea have to win every game in November now to be in the hunt after the CWC, can't see it. Can't keep clean sheets and two heavy reliant on one player.
You have more than enough resources to challenge anybody. It's all about building a TEAM. Ferguson just seems to have that knack of knowing which piece fits where. How they should play, etc. o.k. He doesn't get it right every time. But, he learns when he's got it wrong. On paper, you have a far stronger squad than Utd. It's up to De Matteo, or whoever the next manager may be, to make the right pieces fit.
If you take Mata out the team this team creates little. This is a view I've held since August, way before the media latched on to his brilliance. If Mata is out on Wednesday, I expect prompt elImination from the CL No manager is better at getting average players to consistently perform at the same level as their predecessors. Look at Jonny Evans, he isn't fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Vidic, Stam etc but can perform at a level reasonably close to them.
