You are right but the fact we had a tw... no sorry three man disadvantage only compounded the misery. Thankfully justice was done and Wigan stayed up on merit. The same can't be said for United who will benefit from these kind of "decisions" every week.
I'd pressed post too early, I edited it to clarify that I was only talking about that decision after.
There's no point trying to tell a United fan that the referees show them favour. It's like the Serbian FA denying any racism or misbehaving from their players, you just have to roll your eyes and accept that they're not on the same planet as everyone else.
Apart from the slow start and awful defending, DL, Chelsea played a blinder did you? We'll never know what might have happened had the ref not made his totally reasonable decisions, but the myth that Chelsea were bound to win is a fallacy. You had a purple patch for the middle third of the game. Apart from the excellent Mata, who was obviously instrumental in both your goals- the second exploiting hestitation in our defence, you were comfortably contained (and btw,our 'keeper making decent if unspectacular saves does count- it's all part of the game, you know- every bit as much as a well placed free kick- not luck or an unfair advantage). On the other hand, you struggled to cope with our movement when we had the ball, especially on your left side. Being 0-2 behind after 12 minutes because you couldn't contain our attacks was what defined the game, not the ref penalising poor tackles and theatrical diving.
Dirty Spurs? I'll be darned! It's because we ain't "dirty Spurs" we don't win championships like United and a couple of others!!!!!

This is the image Sky showed, but it doesn't establish when Rafael played the ball. There is no daylight between his foot and the ball in this shot. Roll the footage on 0.1 seconds and Hernandez, sprinting back towards the play, is half a metre further from goal and on side.
Which official could call this with certainty?
Several sets of fans have a version of this - Liverpool fans have spent the past couple of weeks on here pointing the finger at Bale when it's mentioned that Suarez/Gerrard/Sterling can't stay on their feet within two yards of an opposition player (or, in Suarez's case yesterday, coaching staff), whilst a Gooner mate of mine always says we're known as "Dirty Spurs" when I mention their players diving...which is something I've never heard from anyone but him.
Where the **** has this Sterling and diving thing come from? He's been around 30 seconds and hasn't dived once.
Time for the sport to grow up and adopt rugby's methods the way that officials are treated.
Mic them up, order the teams to get their indiscipline sorted out and punish players who don't respect the officials.
I'm sick of seeing refs berated, pressured and harried into crap decisions. Leave them to make their own choices and then it's fair to judge them if they balls it up.
All it would take is one ref standing his ground and brandishing the yellow card at everyone mobbing him to knock it on the head. Especially when you consider it's a very small group of clubs that do it - Man Utd and Chelsea especially - so if they get a ton of suspensions in a short space of time they'll think twice about it.
i will always question any incident and its validity concerning Manchester United and another team if a Liverpool fan joins the debate.
Chelsea need to get over it.
Ivanovic got what he deserved.
Toress got what he deserved...the ladyboy dives at every given opportunity...and tried his best to do it again..he went past Evans then saw another player in front of him and thought 'ilts easier to go down'...no way would he have gone down if he was clear on goal.
the bitterness is shocking and Toress is a ****ter for his antics...im not surprised Clattenberg had had enough.
i may be wrong but i feel that these claims against Clattenberg have only surfaced so that all those concerned at chelsea can say 'see he doesnt like us and it showed in the match'
as for the United winner.....in real time that was very much onside...refs dont have replays, incase you dont know.

It's a game that has cost us dearly.
I don't recall you "just getting over it" in the FA semi. It has happened to us v the same opposition 3 times in a row and numerous times in the past and we're fed up.
If you can't see that Clattenburg was terrible and we were robbed by poor officiating you aren't a football fan. Many others (inc myself) have admitted Spurs have been robbed v United many a time.
