I'd pressed post too early, I edited it to clarify that I was only talking about that decision after.
There's no point trying to tell a United fan that the referees show them favour. It's like the Serbian FA denying any racism or misbehaving from their players, you just have to roll your eyes and accept that they're not on the same planet as everyone else.
Several sets of fans have a version of this - Liverpool fans have spent the past couple of weeks on here pointing the finger at Bale when it's mentioned that Suarez/Gerrard/Sterling can't stay on their feet within two yards of an opposition player (or, in Suarez's case yesterday, coaching staff), whilst a Gooner mate of mine always says we're known as "Dirty Spurs" when I mention their players diving...which is something I've never heard from anyone but him.

Dirty Spurs? I'll be darned! It's because we ain't "dirty Spurs" we don't win championships like United and a couple of others!!!!!
We didn't turn up for the first 20 minutes but United didn't play well at any stage. From the Van Persie goal to the Offside goal I don't think United created a single goalscoring opportunity. We were caught out by a good counter for the 1st red. I have no problem with that at all, that's part of the game but even with 10 men we still kept the ball better and were the better side. When the ref handed you the game by inexplicably sending Torres off it was non-contest.
Taking on United 10 v 11 is a difficult but possible task. Taking on United 9 v 11 is an impossible task but even then without the offside goal we could still have walked out with a point. There is no way we deserved 0 points for that game and United 3. Only in a league like this could that happen but that's just life and we'll have to live with the fact that for us and City the playing field will never be level in title races.
Had we gone down to 10 men and lost 5-2 I'd have had zero complaints.
The opportunity to have a dig there was almost irresistible. I won't say it though
Only a Utd fan could have the temerity given what happened yesterday to claim there was no contact on Torres AND then try and suggest that hernandez wasn't really that much offside and its just the way Sky showed the freeze frame.
Us Liverpool fans have some brass neck like given our past success, but this is taking it to a whole new level.
Every Utd fan if they hope or want to have any semblance of credibility should be admitting now that Torres was hit and was unlucky to get the second yellow and that the winning goal was obviously offside.
Where the **** has this Sterling and diving thing come from? He's been around 30 seconds and hasn't dived once.
Yes it was bad luck on Chelsea but they've had bucket loads more luck than any other team in the world recently and have now had it turned around on them. Anyway from what I saw and read they battled back well and even though they've had two defeats on the trot should return to winning ways very soon.

i will always question any incident and its validity concerning Manchester United and another team if a Liverpool fan joins the debate.

Toress got what he deserved...the ladyboy dives at every given opportunity...and tried his best to do it again..he went past Evans then saw another player in front of him and thought 'ilts easier to go down'...no way would he have gone down if he was clear on goal.
the bitterness is shocking and Toress is a ****ter for his antics...im not surprised Clattenberg had had enough.
i may be wrong but i feel that these claims against Clattenberg have only surfaced so that all those concerned at chelsea can say 'see he doesnt like us and it showed in the match'
as for the United winner.....in real time that was very much onside...refs dont have replays, incase you dont know.

I hate to back Clattenburg over anything, but from his angle the Torres incident does actually look like a dive, in my opinion.

From his angle there, you have to say he made a correct decision based on what 'he' saw. Only we had the benefit of the one slow mo angle in replay that showed the merest brush of contact.
All it would take is one ref standing his ground and brandishing the yellow card at everyone mobbing him to knock it on the head. Especially when you consider it's a very small group of clubs that do it - Man Utd and Chelsea especially - so if they get a ton of suspensions in a short space of time they'll think twice about it.
That angle is really telling. Looks very much more like a dive. Still think the "Senior Ref" should be in the stands and gets a chance to overrule the ref on the field if he sees something wrong... but there should also be a time limit - 20 seconds or whatever when he can overrule and not after. It would be a good way to make use of the more experience refs who aren't allowed to run around any more.

I don't recall you "just getting over it" in the FA semi. It has happened to us v the same opposition 3 times in a row and numerous times in the past and we're fed up.
If you can't see that Clattenburg was terrible and we were robbed by poor officiating you aren't a football fan. Many others (inc myself) have admitted Spurs have been robbed v United many a time.
Diving should be carded retroactively. Even on further review it may not be clear what happened. Another point which would help would be some kind of a gesture a player could make which means "I'm not trying to get the defender carded." A major problem is that a player trying to avoid hurting himself by going down softly and one trying to draw an undeserved card on a defender do the same thing. Having said all that, from what I could tell the card was deserved. Torres went down too easily.

As to the Clattenburg incident: I hope someone determines what really happened and punishes the wrongdoer(s) as harshly as they deserve. Either Clattenburg needs a lifetime ban, or some Chelsea figures should be out of football for life as well.

I don't understand why this doesn't happen. When referees let themselves be mobbed they're making it clear they're incompetent. A minor variation: they could write out one card for the first mobber, then, if it continues, write out a second, and so on. Though I kind of like the idea of handing out a half dozen cards at once. The first team I saw do this was Barca, and ever since I've wished Iniesta, in particular would get carded for all the fake cards he waves and all the mobbing he does.

dont blame the ref for these things as in real time the decisions look correct....i am not just saying this because it is chelsea. If anyone should be miffed then it is Liverpool that is a decision that should have been made correctly even in real time for the Suarez goal.
Of course im a real football fan..and comparing a debatable offside goal to obvious errors against Spurs,such as the Mendes goal are not good comparisons...they were blatant balls ups. The Chelsea match and the talking points are neither here nor there. If it bothers your club so much that Toress got sent off for 'diving' then maybe someone at the club should educate him. I doubt that will happen though. RDM encourages it it seems, he should have taken a leaf out of Moyes's book and condemned his own player...Moyes saw it once and put it right...RDM has had many chances with a few players and not once condemnd it. Toress's reputation came before him,he got what he deserved.
