I agree - obviously it's essential that they take steps to make sure this can never be allowed to happen again but it would be way better to do it out side of the public gaze, for the story to be put back in its box and for the investigators to come back in 3 months time and say "this is what we've found, 7 others were involved and they've all been charged". The Government must absolutely love stories like this as it taks the public mind away from things that are going on now where stuff could be done to make the country a better place instead of the culture secretary gunning for everyone at the BBC. The only thing that surprises me is that Milliband and cameron haven't started arguing about who was in power when Savile got his first victim.

True enough - it was the same with the News of the World last year. When my granda used to watch us as kids, he ALWAYS had Clyde 2 on the wireless. I read one of them - it was way too disturbing for me to want to read the next one tbh! I used to follow Watford round the country back in the mid to late 80s and have to say that aside from the Met (who were always on def con one for anything remotely resembling a local derby) the South Yorkshire mob were definitely the worst. Our support was always pretty small and relatively well behaved but they were always spoiling for a ruck. It wasn't "can you move out of the way there please mate?" but rather "if you don't ****ing move now i'm gonna batter you you dirty little cockney ****". Happy happy days!
