Dave! CS must be punished for causing me to miss the chance to finally shake Paul McVeigh's hand. It's now the fourth time I've missed the chance.

Last night at the Wednesday v Leeds match, Dave Jones was subjected to chanting every bit as abhorrent as racist abuse. Twelve years ago he was accused of sexually abusing youngsters in a home; he stood trial and was acquitted, the judge specifically saying that âno wrong-doing whatsoever has been establishedâ. Yet Jones and his family have to endure that sort of vile taunting to this day, and there are posters on here who apparently think there's nothing wrong in repeating such discredited tittle tattle. Is this sort of vile behaviour any more excusable than racism, and why isn't it met with similar outrage? We fans are quick to condemn racism in this country, while apparently acquiescing in similarly abhorrent forms of personal abuse.
Were you locked in his cellar?

Robbie, I've not seen anyone on here abusing anyone else in the way that you mention! If it happened, trust me, it would be dealt with in the same manner as racial, or homophobic abuse! I ask anyone who see's this sort of thing on here with no action taken, please notify Maestro or myself! It will not be tolerated!![]()

I have played against Yugoslavs and believe me I'm not exaggerating when I say knives have been pulled at junior football matches. They are a volatile, emotional and demonstrative race of people.
Rio Ferdinand issued £220K fine for not wearing Kick it Out T-Shirt.
John Terry fined £220K for racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.
F***ing disgraceful.

They're a disgrace to the human race. They belong in cages in the zoo as far as I'm concerned, lets not forget about 17-18 years ago during the wars it was perfectly acceptable for them to go into villages rape all the women and massacre everyone. Barbarians who need to learn manners if I had my own way I'd carpet bomb the ****ers back into Stoneage.
why is it disgraceful? if it came from man utd, then surely its just the club highlighting how ridiculous terry's punishment was...which isnt really news...
I suppose carpet bombing is preferable to machine gunning or whatever; at least the guys dropping the bombs aren't in a position to rape anyone. As for saying "They belong in cages in the zoo", that is precisely how those who make monkey noises and gestures from the terraces think.
Dave, I was referring to posts which repeat "discredited tittle tattle" about managers, players etc. I didn't mean people on here attacking other posters. If you want examples: posts propagating the scandalous Morison/Tierney gossip; posts referring to "Porno Jewell", and the like. Thai points out that footie fans like to claim that this sort of dirt is "banter". Well it isn't.![]()
I've read this thread today, and don't really get your points at all Robbie? Porno Paul and two players being gossiped about is not that same as a whole stadium racially abusing players on the pitch and than their safety being under threat. I don't understand your point on that at all.

It's disgraceful because it shows the disparity between club and national FA when dealing with such issues. Rio F chose not to wear it to show his disapproval of the paltry sentence given to Terry for racially abusing his brother - yet for his troubles, he gets hit with an equivalent financial penalty. Disgraceful, as I already said.

The thread is entitled "Shameful". The post you are referring to was prompted by the sickening chanting aimed at Dave Jones by Leeds fans at the Wednesday v Leeds game. My point was simply that racist abuse is not the only sort of shameful behaviour encountered at football matches, and some of the attitudes which such behaviour incorporates can also be found on forums such as this. I was not suggesting that broadcasting gossip about Morison and Tierney is on a par with what happened either at Hillsborough or at the Under 21 match in Serbia. Shamefulness has degrees. But football would be the better for being rid not just of racism but of shameful behaviour generally.![]()
Do you go up to people telling edgy jokes and tell them they're 'sickening', or do you just reserve your feigned moral indignation for when you're on the internet, and cued by the tabloids to be angry.
That probably made sense in your head.
