The smile that shames Leeds United for a very long time.

Do you think he enjoyed that?
An image that will linger.
Sometimes it takes one incident to remind you what is so irritating about being a Leeds United fan. The timing of idiocy seems to be a specialism of the support as a collective. Given what the game of football was talking about most of the week we didn’t need a screen-grab reminder of the puerile violent tendency we attract. But as sure as eggs is eggs we got one.
Look again at that smile, this is a man who is proud of himself and is lapping up the adoration from our end. The back-slapping he receives is as sickening has his joy. The “only 1″ defence is shattered by the reality of the pitch invasion, not to mention the attempts to breach police lines. It doesn’t hold an ounce of water and is made really limp when the rumoured identity of the assailant suggests he has existing banning orders in force!
To add insult to injury the twittersphere seems to be full of people trying to dilute the issue. Let us be clear, it matters not what you think of how Kirkland went down and frankly any questioning of his integrity is pathetic, you try taking a double shove in the face with a seconds notice of where it is coming from! Equally using David Jones totally understandable emotional reaction to chanting he received as an excuse to divert from what the idiot did suggests the IQ level of our away following is even lower than usual! In a week where the police are investigating over 200 accusations of abuse against a hero of the City of Leeds to barrack a man who the judicial system found had no case to answer is about as morally perverting as you get.
This article may be sowing the seeds of this sites decline but it has to be be said, we deserve whatever we have coming from the FA, it would be nice if for once the club and support took it on the chin but that is unlikely. Leeds United are represented now by two individuals, one the owner/Chairman whose reputation is set in stone for eternity and now also by a grinning feral boy who shames us potentially for a similar period of time.
There is no positive from this, in fact with Brighton away also live on Sky coming up on the horizon we fear the worst. The only reasonable response is everyone to reflect in the cold light of day, keep off the social media outlets and accept NO EXCUSES.
