I suspect that "casual racism" exists in banter form in most dressing rooms...it maybe an accepted joke amongst friends but it becomes an issue when it beyond that.

For example...blokes often call their mates ****ers or ****s but if some-one other than their mate called them it they punch them.
A better example is that I can make jokes with my mrs but if any other bloke did she'd kick him stupid...

That's part of the problem...any one who disagrees with one side is either jumping on the bandwagon or is pc gone mad and anyone who agrees with the other is supporting racism or is a racist. Maybe if we listened alittle more and considered that someone else might have a point we'd learn a bit more and move forward a bit

have not heard him speak in person so you could well be right...I kind of agree re collymore but he has accepted he was a **** and completely wrong so I think that maybe he's changed but maybe that's just wishful thinking. I would be unhappy if my daughters ended with someone who once punched a previous girlfriend so like I said I do kind of agree with you on that.

Do you even read the posts or just see who has sent them and guess an appropriate reply?

Remebercollie. Even so such words if spoken even by a friend would make you turn your head and maybe remark something. Nothing was said to him by either party. I fail to belive that kind of language is bandied around Chelsea with such casual frequency that a black man would not be offended by it. Something is amiss.

I'll listen to anyone that has a valid point, but whether or not he agrees with the FA's punishment of Terry his views on the matter aren't going to increase it.
If he got every black player in the English leagues to sign a petition to get any future punishment increased for players guilty of the same charges i'd say it would carry more weight than refusing to be part of the Kick It Out weekend.

TBH I think that Ferdinand got under Terry's skin and Terry got under Ferdinands skin and then stuff was said about terry being unfaithful and terry said the ****tiest thing he could think of.

I can't prove it but that's my gut reaction. I wish he'd made today's statement back then ... it would have shown he understood that he went over the top and it would have been sorted out a lot quicker. People mess up all the time but it appears that ALL the big players refuse to take responsibility for the messes they create...it's a shame that this turned into lets use this to have a go at Chelsea type of argument. It is a bigger issue than that.

I agree about this...I think he is missing the point by refusing to wear the Kick it Out top....it matters and in my opinion should be worn particularly in light of what took place in Serbia which is a bigger and more frightening issue. I think that there needs to be an open and honest discussion about what to do next

I quite agree. No one has come out of this smelling of roses. A lot of people have let themselves down an presented a very poor picture for the game. Going back to the original point I made. It all seems a bit suspect. I'm still not entirely convinced those exact word came out of his mouth which is where the base of this lie for me at least. Somewhere along the line someone has decided he has said it and that's the end of it. I'm not saying what he said wasn't bad. I may be wrong but how one court can be right and another wrong is beyond me.

Eufa and the FA are totally ridiculous bodies, run by fat old men years out of touch with the Game they represent, and life as it really is. You will always get brain dead results if either are involved.
Terry is not too bright, not always truthful, and has a history of troubles. He is also an excellent player.
Rio is a sleaze, drug cheat and general low life, and obviously a very bad influence on his brother, who himself is no angel.
Two of the three got punished, but the one who was up to his neck in vile abuse walks free as a bird.
Glad it's over, shouldn't have made a front page had anyone with a brain been involved.
Can we get back to the game now please??

  12. Will people let John "Iron my hood, bitch!" Terry forget about his racist slur? I don't know, I really don't.

This whole exercise has been one to fill up huge chunks of the nations press sports pages and turn a common spat between two unsophisticated individuals into World War 3. In addition its given the FA brass a bit of work to do , in order to indulge their self importance.
If they'd been given a slap on the wrist the day after it happened we could have moved on.

Sorry, I know I said I would leave it, but how, exactly, has Anton (if he's the other one you refer to) 'walked free as a bird'? He has broken no FA rules, he has been accused of breaching no civil or criminal law. Whether his actual conduct was ill-advised is another matter, but he's done nothing at all that he would 'walk free as a bird' from.

Just needed saying, that some people still can't differentiate between the laws of the land, the regulations of the FA, and the general bad language that goes on in every match.

    NOW lets get on.

I believe Chelsea are the only employer in the UK who would not immediately suspend and then probably sack a member of staff who shouted '****ing black ****' in the presence of a black colleague. If you are unsure about this - try it out at work. So much for supporting the fight against racist abuse.

A win at OT and these ****s think they're top of the world.

Please revert to game in April any time you think of the word 'spanking'

Yes, cause 2xwdcslayer (who I've never encountered before) speaks for all of us. On my prediction game on the Spurs board we have had 12 predictors so far - 5 for Spurs win, 5 for Chelsea and 2 for a draw. Doesn't strike me as us thinking we are top of the world.

There have been more than a few Spurs fans being overly confident about tomorrow.

And a good many more who think it will be really tough. As it is at WHL there will be a degree of optimism (our record against you is quite good recently, not lost in the league there since 2005) but not over confidence from the majority of us.
