Yep it's great to see Dempsey scoring for USA. I still think he'll be too knackered to start v Chelsea, but he may have to.

Incidentally Dembele was injured last night, so Siggy may have to play anyway.

Are you sure he is iinjured? Not just a tactical replacement bringing Hazard on at half time? If he is out, then Huddlestone for me as his replacement.

HI SD, according to their manager he was taken off at HT with a hip injury, so I guess that's pretty conclusive.

Of course he might recover in time for Saturday, if not I think I'd cry if Hudd was brought in as replacement, Chelsea will literally and metaphorically run rings around him, IMHO.

Siggy would surely start, then if Livermore was ft I'd rather have him than Hudd.

Too early to call ATM I guess.

One way forward could be to play JV as a DM, he's superman he can do it I reckon, I think he's played there before, his skill means he can surely do a job there anyway, and play BAE at LB.

All sorts of permutations are possible, and as you say Hudd is one possible solution, but as I say I can't face the idea, but tough calls for the manager as usual.

He may play Siggy Defoe and Ade

in which case he could play Sandro Bale and Lennon and go for it.

Well yeah but you'd have to try bloody hard to get hammered by the time the game starts though, which is usually what causes trouble around the stadium. I usually go via Liverpool St anyway but when I used to get the Victoria line it was always a nightmare, they had about 4 years of works on the evenings and weekends and even though they canceled works for Spurs games at the start there were always some that weren't and always delays.

No... people won't get smashed before the game but there will be time to make sure both sets of fans are up for the game meaning it should be a good atmosphere... Aren't there a few stops that you can get off at? White Hart Lane and a couple of others?

I know a few Spurs fans share your scepticism of Tommy, but for me his control and passing of a football is the best in a team (possibly excluding Dembele) and the chance to set Bale and Lennon on their way with clever and well timed passes is a way to go in this game. Possibly bring Siggy on later to get in amongst Chelsea when they are starting to tire.

The OS hasn't mentioned it so hopefully it's just a minor knock. Can't imagine how he could've got injured anyway, the guy's made out of granite!

The nearest tube station is Seven Sisters which is 3 miles away. If you are on the main line, you may as well stay on to White Hart Lane station. After Seven Sisters, there is only one route in.

Fair comments SD, but Sandro on his own effectively against Oscar Hazard and co, sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

Of course we could play say Sandro JV/Liv and Hudd, that might do it, then again ....

The Victoria Line is closed between Brixton and Highbury and Islington so I won't be taking the Victoria Line. I've been told there is like Bruce Grove, White Hart Lane and one other to choose from? Northumberland Park? (or is that just my imagination) <whistle>

Well apparently even granite men can get injured hips, but as you say he may well be there for Saturday, hope so.

I wouldn't rely on the OS for up to date injury information, I think a direct quote from the Belgian manager is a lot more reliable. I did pick up the story via another web site, so I guess it could be wrong, but why sub Dembele if he wasn't injured. Anyway, AFAIC he is injured, until it's confirmed otherwise.

You are right, but Bruce Grove is just one stop from WHL and on the same line. If you are on the train, just stay on one more stop? If it was a different line, I could see the advantage. I have done it via Stratford, to Hackney. Then had a little walk round the corner to anther Hackney Station and then its just a few stops to WHL. Or go to to Liverpool Street and get to WHL directly.

Probably find other fans who get there more regularly than me will have other options.

Northumbeland Park and WHL are the closest. Any train that goes through Bruce Grove will stop at WHL, I think. I really can't see how this is going to work though, they're small stations so maybe they'll try and get you guys to get off at Bruce Grove and walk up to keep you seperate.

Cheers... I had might as well just stay on until WHL then... I'm sure we'll find our way. Otherwise, in my Chelsea shirt, I'll just ask a few Spurs fans for the directions ;)

Just looked up Stratford to Northumberland Park and is a good option <grr>. Bloody train companies didn't give that option.

Those are the officials for the game, could be worse than Dean, I guess. Clattenberg was the one I really worried about.

There are loads of ways you can get to Spurs, people seem to get hooked on Seven Sisters for some reason.

There's Wood Green and a walk/bus down. As always leave plenty of time, it's a long walk and the W3 used to get stuck in traffic, but I'd always give it plenty of time, and never missed kick off.. There's Tottenham Hale, and a longish walk, there's a station on the Barking Gospel Oak line, IIRC, and a longish walk. There's Northumberland Park, Bruce Grove.

I'm not suggesting anyone take these routes, they need to check out what's best for them, but so many alternatives seem to be ignored when discussing travel to Spurs.

I'll be gutted if we don't have Dembele available. we've seen on numerous occasions already how good he can be, especially against challenging opposition. (Twice against United already this season). and judging by the comments so far, it appears that we've all got a difference of opinion over Sig/Hudd and who should play where. it also goes to show how we're really short of any real replacement for Dembele if he's not fit. if none of us can put our finger on the man to replace him, it shows that we haven't got the confidence in other players who can come in. - that'll need addressing in Jan when the EL and other cups have started taking their toll.

the one thing we're going to need against chelsea is pace and fitness. they aren't a particularly big/strong side, especially if the likes of Mata, Oscar, Hazard Ramirez play. but as we all know, they are quick, skillfull and will keep going and going. so with those names, it's essential we don't play Livermore.

I also don't think Hudd looks fit yet and would worry about what sort of performance we'd get out of him. i'd rather see him come on as a sub.

GH10, agree with you about JV playing alongside Sandro. he's played in that position for Ajax in the past, and Belgium too I believe. we've all seen how quick he is and how he likes to get forward, so that could be a good shout. - is Benny fit though? obviously we're desperately short of LB options at present!

trying to work out what my starting 11 would be, but i'm really struggling....

Good news for Spurs. Dean loves you guys <ok>

If Dembele is out that's a massive blow and IMO swings things very much in our favour.

SD is Seven Sisters really 3 miles away? Only feels like 1.5

It's a disgrace Atkinson was not chosen
