I would say that the average worked out over three games is indeed an excellent comparison to an average worked out over an entire season. So if Hugo concedes two against Chelsea I could rightly say "Oh my God - this guy's goals conceded stats have just increased by 200%! That is unforgivable!"
Plus "rated higher in world football" means what exactly? I did not realise that there were objective measures of these things now. Or do you just mean what the French/Spanish/German/Lithuanian equivalent of Andy Gray thinks?
To be fair you've been very excited about Lloris from the outset purely based on his reputation and what you've seen written about him it seems. You were going on about how he was "Our second world class player alongside Bale" as if terms like "world class" actually meant anything.
It is certain that he will replace Friedel as number one. It is highly likely that he is, indeed, very good. But if you were to go by what you've actually seen of him in a Spurs shirt you would realise that there are still creases to be ironed out as you would expect with a new, foreign keeper who is new to the English game.
Imagine if we signed a keeper who was generally recognised as one of the best in Europe? Who plays for one of if not THE best international team in the world? Who holds the current record for clean sheets in one of the better European leagues? Who's been chased by some of the top clubs in Europe and would become one of the most expensive keepers in history? Step forward Heurelho Gomes.
I guess he'd walk into your team, though. Facts and figures like that.
