Everything in the clip is consistent with Bale trying to get out of the way of an intended foul from Guzan who pulled out at the last second. It might also have been a dive though, no-one can be sure so the ref probably got it right.

Bale dived, but he clearly wasn't trying to get Guzan sent off.
If he was, then he'd have done a Suarez and either made a massive appeal to the ref or writhed around in agony for a bit and then jumped up and berated the officials when he didn't get anything.
Even if it had been a foul, the ball was going well wide, so it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity, so it wouldn't have been a red.

On an unrelated note, here's a bit of Brazilian dancing:

another good wins for us yesterday!

the AVB train is building momentum, considering the changes made I am pleased with our start! could be worse could be better, we haven't quite gelled yet but we have in patches and the football has been great when we have

AVB is slowly winning me over, although I wasn't against him as much as some I was very curious of what job he could do

Surprised he didn't get dizzy all that spinning around.

Yeah, we're not doing badly and we haven't dropped a point since all of our new players have become eligible to play and settled in. Still not convinced the performances are quite there yet and we've got another big game after the international break, followed quickly by 3 away games so I think we'll no better where we're at after them.

Perhaps PNP could set the clip to that Kylie Minogue track. :)

6. One of the biggest plusses for me yesterday was seeing Ade back and in such a positive mood. Thought he was excellent when he came on and it is a relief that he appears to have brought the positive attitude from last season with him!!

Lioris played against Villa so he can play in the internationals. The french managers rules are he won't pick a player who does'nt play for his club first team the week before.Bit daft that but then that's the french for you.

Some might say, it's equally a bit daft for our manager to condescend to the wishes of the French manager. I thought it is Tottenham Hotspur who pay AVB's wages, not the French FA.

Could be worse, the French could pick players based on their having a higher media profile than someone equally adept at playing their their position...

Interesting info, totsfan.
I agree with the Spurcat comment too, but anything that kills 10 birds
with one stone and keeps the Jiggins mob from wetting their nappies is all
good.

Expect Brad to return against Chelsky and the imminent PL top 4 clashes away.
Quite happy for Lloris to get the odd 'safer' PL home game against the Villas (in addition
to Europa/League Cup duty) .

Evening mate.

I do too.

I agree with your point re. France, but I don't think AVB for one minute has used that as a consideration or swayed by what they and Deschamps want, only to appease the player, and as we know appeasing one player will affect another. Really tough call, not one I'd want, but you have to say all parties of our staff seem to have handled it well.

Its give us all a look at him at least, and it should show the drama queen he's not the immaculate keeper he thinks he is. Distribution errors in both games, and I'm guessing on this, but looked like no 'shout' to a defender in front of him a couple of times. Daws looked bewildered to be clattered from behind going for the same ball Thur night one example. When a defender hears 'keepers' they usually hold their head into their shoulders and sort of brace themselves, didn't see that....you can take this opportunity to pass my expert opinion to Mr. Parks! :D

My belated impressions:

I thought Bale was tremendous, though the dive was certainly embarrassing. Lennon had another excellent game. Sandro and Dembele were both very good, with Sandro possibly even better this game. Defoe was a little off. His shooting was poor, and his passing infrequent. He still worked very hard though. Vertonghen stepped down from being superb to merely very good. Gallas and Caulker were excellent. It was nice to see Caulker get a goal he didn't deserve after losing a couple he did. Walker continues to worry. I just don't think Dempsey is a central midfielder. Lloris was very good other than one mistake. I have to say as much as I like Friedel, I think he will be a significant upgrade.

The other potential improvement around the corner is bringing in Ade and/or Gylfi. I'd certainly like to see them both, and think it would be a very bold move to try them against Chelsea. But I wonder: what about Ade and Defoe? Go with that, and every team will be shaking in its boots at the prospect of defending corners against us...which is an improvement over dying of laughter.

I hope that Lloris stays in goal for the Chelsea game. If we are serious about beating them, we'll need our best team out, and that includes Lloris.

He showed again on Sunday why he is an upgrade on Brad, and I'd expect him to start all the Prem games from now on. Maybe let Brad have a couple of the safer ones, but I would be loath to even risk that.

<doh>

Has Brad thrown it straight to an opponent?, had that header gone in from that, never mind what would be on here, it would be a media field day and have crushed his confidence. Such fine lines are not a reason to continue risk with. You spew your drivel based on a clean sheet. This only adds weight to the argument that twats with stats actually know very little. :)

Btw, how do you know about the Chelsea comment?, we're all on your ignore 'cough!...bullshit!' list, you should only being seeing blank spaces.

Please take some advice and do not build your hopes up too much about Lloris being in goal for the Chelsea game.

"It’s important for a player to know that if you’re training well and playing well, you’ll be in the team. It’s not nice when there are favourites. I think the manager has brought that in and I am happy." - SC

Seems Caulker wasn't impressed by Redknapp's method of team selection, going by that.
Competition for places has to be a good thing, doesn't it?
