Whatever LUST say or don't say, the damage has already been done. Its self inflicted because they needn't have said anything. What they've achieved is: Stopped prospective new members from joining, made themselves look silly, but worst of all they have got Bates and GFH to give a joint statement which ridicules them. Shot themselves in the foot big style and will only hamper future moves.

Anyone who wants to set themselves up as the voice of leeds Utd fans, needs to ensure they are clean and green and above reproach. Their intentions have always been good, but maybe the media limelight was too tempting for an inexperienced bloke who isn't media savvy.
 
I wouldn't be surprised that Cooper has got wrapped up in his own lies and now he can't back out now. Wouldn't be surprised if Bates considers Cooper something he stepped on.

Why Out them now? Bates and Haigh are annoyed by the constant comments and media appearances. They've probably not gained access to anything. Bates doesn't need to undermine them, yes they trying to do well for the club but they have done some stupid things in the past e.g. The sign. Yes it was funny but in my opinion it was stupid. GFH are an UAE company I don't think a lack of money is there problem, yes they've lost 4 Mill in 4 years but the world economy has been down the swany
 
What exactly has GC lied about? He has a contact within the buying party he has always said. Has he ever said he has had direct contact with GHF?

I'm not going to get drawn into a debate about it but I reckon its Bates parting shot at trying to discredit LUST as he has a personal vendetta about a 'insignificant supporters group' that he just cant stop banging on about.

Haigh gets told agree to this joint statement or your in breach of NDA's for leaking information to LUST. Haigh reluctantly goes ahead then tweets afterwards, 'now that is over lets get back to being united' or something along those lines.

As much as LUST have got wrong they are a young association who are still learning, and taking on Bates in any form is either brave or stupid because we know he wont back down.

Cant wait for the old bastard to be out or the whole of this takeover bollocks to finally cease so we can find out the truth, park it and get back to talking about football!

Now that the red mist is lifting from me, I'm inclined to agree with this. GFH could be sued by Bates if the NDA has been breached, and LUST's statements allow the inference to be taken that this may have been the case. Indeed, we might never know what the outs & ins are until Bates dies.

When I read your comments yesterday and that tweet you fired off I was in full agreement. in real life I go with my gut and i'm the first to be outspoken but in this case I think everyone needs to take a step back and stop playing the blame game as nothing yet has happened! The only thing I am sure of is Ken will be laughing his bollocks off at every discrediting comment aimed at his new mortal enemy Gary Cooper. Bates always needs an enemy. I wonder who he is going to take on after he sells us? Thats whats keeping him in the job, the fact that soon he will just be a rich old bastard that no one will listen to.

Up yours Ken. Take on a cafe in monaco for putting too much cream in your coffee!
 
Morning all. All this T/O business & he said she said strikes me as being a load of smoke & mirrors on both sides. There are those who support LUST, whose motives I'm sure are to do their best for the club. There are those, even now, who to a degree support Bates in what he has being trying to do since arrival, which I believe is to take a longer term view of the club than the supporters would like.

Whatever your views, we are still in a better place than we were a few years ago. We are solid financially, with the prospect of some serious money coming in. We have a Manager with a long & proven track record of getting teams out of this league. We have a good crop of youngsters coming through taking us back to where we were 5 or 6 years ago prior to the firesale. We are currently 7th in the league 4 or so points off top spot with the players currently available.

Fast forward 10 or so weeks & we have a number of players back, the possibility of bringing in better players, & potentially serious money for future player investment. I see little more than a rosy future.... or is it just that I'm blinkered with a permanent cup half full approach?

True it would be funny if the whole Millwall squad picked up a rare jungle knob rot virus and had to retire because their dicks fell off.

I would chuckle if the club was taken over by Bashar al-Assad, moved to Syria and used as human shields for the royal family.

Heck, even a plague outbreak south of the river could be seen as quite amusing...

But Bates taking over at the New Den, now that's just sick. You should be ashamed of yourself for going so low.....

Its apparant that LUST have made some cock ups along the way, but their intentions are good. At least they are trying to do the right thing (get rid of Bates). Its easy to criticise after the events...
 
Okay one & all, why would Papa Smurf buy Millwall? Deptford is a small village near Charlton? Pity though. Imagine the banter we'd have with Tommy, Ringo Lion & the rest of the gang.
 
Afternoon all - The biggest shame is that LUST as a voice for Leeds Utd fans could have been immense, the foundations were there to really have something special and through their own doing one way or another it has been ruined. I joined ages ago, my first doubts arose when the player unrest statement was released and the bottom line for me was the statement that the club would run out of money and not see the season out without investment and that proposed buyers had ploughed £4m in to pay for contracts and purchases.

I don't know the guy Gary Cooper - What I do know is that he has rubbed people up the wrong way, there are an awful lot of fans who seem to dislike him. Maybe LUST can be salvaged if he stepped down and handed the reins over to someone with a bit of experience in the business world. While I accept they are a new and young organisation learning as they go along they are making too many mistakes and not learning from them.

I still believe Haigh has been watching how LUST have been operating in the background, like a kind of future employer thinking can I work with this group. LUST have stepped over the line as far as he is concerned hence the joint statement.

I fail to understand why you believe everything they say, you never doubt a word?

Let me ask you ONE question - IF they ploughed £4m into the club why did they not make an announcement to the stock market?

I argue with logic, but am driven by gut instinct (no Gary is fat jokes please!) and loyalty/respect. I've accepted LUST haven't been 100% right about everything - who has... ever been? Genuine question. They've been over 95% right though from what I can see.

I have admitted to being wrong on here many times before and will gladly do so again if I am. I didn't want LUST to fail, I am saddened that I believe that they have and they played right into Bates hands as far as I am concerned. In regards to the £4m they (GFH) have stated to their stock market that after DD they are trying to purchase us, they have to because it could affect their share price.

Surely their stock holders would like to know if they had pumped £4m into us, it just doesn't equate for a moment that a merchant bank would basically gift the club £4m. If this T/O went tits up followed shortly after by us going bust then they wouldn't get that £4m back, it isn't a gamble a merchant bank would take with shareholders money, it would ruin them.

Question For Lust - A while back you mentioned that the 'potential new owners' had ploughed £4 million into the club to finance player purchases and contracts. Your experts stated that under Ken we would have a problem seeing the season out as finances were that poor. It is obvious that the initial talks failed as you have stated yourself that GFH have only emerged in the last 6 weeks as new potential buyers. So what happened to the £4 million the previous potential lot ploughed into the club? Did Ken have to pay it back or was that an incorrect announcement based on assumptions??

Bottom line is LUST are meant to represent the supporters, it is obvious from forums and other social outlets that MANY fans feel LUST have failed them.

A lot of what has been said was via forum gossip, posted by BIG.

I didn't want LUST to fail, it doesn't matter if you or anyone else feels that they haven't, enough people feel that they have to make it damaging enough that they won't recover in the format that they are.

I can point out failings all night long, I might twist some so it gets my point over and so that it reads as I am reading it. You can point out success, twist some points so that it reads how you wish to see it. You are not going to turn the anti brigade as much as I am not going to turn the positive ones.

I still want Bates out just as much as you, it isn't my fault that LUST have lost me, it isn't LIW's fault that they have lost him, it is their actions. The writing was on the wall a long time ago and they ignored it.

I believe that GC has had some contact with someone from within GFH, LUST lost me long before this through other contradictions and what I believe were lies and scaremonger tactics as well as a dose of big myself up and blow my own trumpet as hard as I can.

YES I might have jumped on the bandwagon yesterday but this isn't about if LUST have had contact with GFH or not, if it is proven one way or another the damage is done, the fingers are pointing and how can LUST in the format that they are now and Haigh ever work together in the future?
