Ha. True. But also what does he have to lose? The risk/reward balance for diving is a no-brainer. Even if he's caught doing an absolutely nailed-on dive the worst that he gets is a yellow. On the other hand, if you're not caught, you get a free kick (or penalty), the opponents go down to ten men and lose their goalkeeper who is then banned for the next game as well. Nah - getting caught diving is worth the risk all day long with the rules as they are.
Why is there suddenly a load of talk about diving, with the focus falling on Bale and Suarez? Chelsea recently had a number of dives in the same game, Jenkinson did a horrendous one against them which was actually given as a foul and Man Utd have spent the last few seasons doing it practically every week. We have one diver in 20 bloody years and there's a national outcry! What a load of bollocks.
If they want to rid football of the cancer of diving, they should fill Stamford Bridge, the Emirates, Old Trafford and Anfield to the brim with Cyclophosphamide!
It's been building up for awhile. It started with Young last season and more recently Ivanovic and Oscar got slated, the only dives I didn't see talked about were Jenkinson and Luiz but maybe I just missed the outrage from the press about them. Every ex-proffessional, journalist and pundit seems desperate to pass their comment about diving now and call for player bans despite the fact that there were no such calls in any previous season despite diving existing pre 2012. The FA can't do anything until next season now anyway but hopefully retrospective 1 game bans will be reintroduced. It is ridiculous that Bale's being so readily grouped with Suarez as a serial diver though, especially when you remember how prolific the likes of Drogba, Nani, Young and others have been in recent years.
It's also ridiculous that Alan Shearer condemns diving, given he was one of the most blatant divers in the Premier League at one time. Next he'll be condemning use of elbows or studs on opposition defenders when a corner is coming in...
Never mind diving, they should do something about the shirt pulling at corners, or if a player is being outpaced.
They should also consider clamping down on managers slandering other teams before games, let alone after. Yes, Wenger, I'm talking about you...
****ing hell its rich a Liverpool fan mocking another teams players for how they look: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Just three of the stunning models filling your team at the minute.

Michael Owen says it's the influx of foreigners players that brought diving into the English game. I'm not sure where he got that idea from - he was happy to dive against English defenders just as much as foreign ones...
Yes. But unfortunately, when there are psychopathic thugs, like Charlie Adam on the other side, trying to put you in hospital, it can tend to make you a little nervous!...
This is utter bullshit. Bale's dived a few times and got absolutely **** all for any of them. He gets caught every time. Young and Welbeck spent the whole of last season's run in diving on a weekly basis and picking up a ton of free-kicks and important penalties, so where was the outcry then? It has everything to do with clubs and nothing to do with individual players at all.
a few bad tackles,he's a thug,in football boots,and can't tell the difference between a ball and a player.
Yeah right! When it comes to malicious intent, the only one I can think of, off hand, who's anywhere near as bad, is Cattermole! Adam is a nasty thug who should have been banned a long time ago.
