Who needs France when we can revel in the likes of Brighton, Catterick, Leicester & Wolverhampton?

    Tipperary Abandoned.

Today I'm taking a scientific method to racing. I must rule out Leicester because my father in-law is a Lester. I wouldn't want to offend the good gent by making light of his name. If I upset him, his wife will not be happy. This in turn will trickle down to my wife...she won't be happy either. She'll make sure that I won't be happy. Then there is Catterick. **** I hate cats, except as headware. So we're left with Wolverhampton and Brighton. Other than knowing that Wolverhampton is full of wandering people, I know nothing about the place. What are they looking for? So I'm left with Brighton. I lived in a Brighton in Adelaide, as a young man. I was ripped off my face most of the time, but I think I had a good time. Al Zarooni sends a single horse to Brighton today, Backstage Tour. It's slight odds against, but it seems a good pointer.

    Brighton 15:20. Backstage Tour.

Morning, all. Poor day’s racing today but the eyecatcher has to be the fact that old boy Gosden is running one in a seller this afternoon! Cor blimey, that’s not something he does every day! Arctic Galaxy is the animals name and he goes at Leicester with the Buick boy up (3.10). Hasn’t shown a great deal of form although if he had he obvious wouldn’t be running at this level! Not backing it but the horse certainly caught the old Chuckle eye.

I’d also be very interested to see if anyone, after the race, opts to buy or claim Arctic Galaxy. I wonder if any trainer thinks they can better the job done by old boy Gosden!

Good luck if you do wager, people.

On yer Cyc... After your fantastic introduction to the racing today i am glad you have told us Tipperary is abandoned, as you well know its a long way to Tipperary and that shall save a wasted journey...<ok><laugh>

Will check the cards to see if indeed we can find trip suitable for one particular runner today...<cheers>

    Four from Leicester for me

2.10 - NICKELS AND DIMES (NAP) - Nice breeding, out of Teofilo who has created some of the top 2 year olds this year, Roz 2nd in group 1 company, Havana Gold as well as 3 year old G1 winner Parish Hall, half sister on dam side to Kalahari Gold. Breeding suggests she will go on soft. Willy Buick takes the mount. Very interested to see how this one goes. Burlington Bertie at the moment, i'll have some of that!

3.10 - Arte Del Calcio 6/1 - Form on one of the joint favs, well in the weights, goes on the ground.

3.40 - Ennistown (NB) 11/10 - Won with plenty in hand lto, step up in trip to suit. Should win this fairly comfortably.

4.10 - Hidden Justice 25/1 - Played up lto when not liking blinkers, cheekpieces tried today, if he goes he will be in the mix i reckon, worth the risk at a big price imo.

Great to see that Go Native holds an entry in the last at Navan tomorrow.

He hasn't run since being a beaten favourite in the 2010 Champion Hurdle.

I'll second that Dex - proper good horse, remember his Christmas Hurdle win well, sauntered into the lead over the last and nearly allowed Starluck to get back at him. Had my sphincter going like a barn door in a storm

<laugh> Oddy...that Carberry fella has some dangly bits to ride the way he does.

He used to ride old Harchibald in the same fashion.
