There's a couple of players who careers fell off a cliff when they left us: Ryan France - Now 30, he's made just nine league appearances for the Blades since leaving us, his last was 21st Nov 2009, so he hasn't played now for almost a year and a half and is out of contract in the summer. Stuart Green - Now 29, he's had five clubs in the five years since he left us, making just 55 league appearances over all that time. He hasn't made a single appearance for Wycombe since Taylor got the elbow, his last game was in January 2010 and again he's out of contract in the summer. A shame really, both did a decent job for us, I expect there's several others that I haven't thought of who suffered a similar fate.
What about Scotty Wiseman, heard he is first team but not sure where now? Im pretty sure everytime i saw him on football league show he was getting sent off haha
Scott Wiseman has fared much better, he's in the starting XI at Rochdale and has played almost every game this season(he did get one red).
In more recent times : Jozy Altidore - Loaned out again, this time to Turkey made 8 appearences and scored 1 goal. Manucho - Didn't quite score the 40 goals a season he predicted. Ended up scoring 6 for 3 different clubs.
Altidore's record is worse than it looks this season, before he went to Bursaspor, he played eight games for Villareal and didn't score in any of them either.
hows myhill done? i rememebr him getting a chance, but carson seems to be in all the time when i see them.. get him back!!
Mouyokolo has only played in four Premier League games, there were ten goals scored against Wolves in those 4 games.
feel for mouyokolo, read some comments from wolves fans who thought he was absolutely dreadful. somebody around here asked the question about potentially bringing him back in the summer, think he'll head back to france myself. a couple more to add to the collection; daniel cousin - 5 goals in 24 games for larissa in greece isn't an outstanding return for the greek league george boateng - 12 appearances for skoda xanthi also in the greek league.
Both Green and France would make a good living here in Oz but I guess they haven't got an agent. Altidore's fans will still not admit that he fires blanks and have come up with yet another excuse - Bursaspor don't play his type of game. I cannot see him being offered a contract at the end of the season as they like results and he ain't providing. Villareal will try to offload him, either on loan or permanently. Caleb Folan had a flying start at Colorado Rapids where they won their first three games and topped the table (Caleb netting a couple) but unfortunately they couldn't keep up the pace and lost their last three to tumble down to 4th. Some fans are now (already) suggesting Caleb be off-loaded - give the bloke a chance chaps. Here in Oz we have another couple of months or so where we will (hopefully) see a fully fit Michael Bridges return as Captain of the Newcastle Jets for his final season whilst journeyman Danny Allsopp starts yet again for Melbourne Victory after two unsuccessful spells at Al Raayan (Qatar) and DC United (MLS).
I am sticking up for altidore here. He's not the best finisher, theres no arguing that. But I don't think he's the type of striker who makes others look better by setting them up. He's more a heskey. He's strong, can pick out a pass and his main contribution are assists not goals.
Michael Keane was at Hull during the 2004-05 League 1 season, he ended up at some team in the Irish League and got let go. He's already retired and he's only 28, I feel sorry for him cause I never thought he was that bad and got a couple of important goals for us aswell.
I sort of agree with that. I think his main contribution was making a nuisance of himself. He won lots of free-kicks and did set up a lot of goals (didn't he lead our assist charts?). His problem was the same as all other American players, he was overhyped.
Keane was a headcase, he was permanently drunk off the pitch and he wasn't much better on it, he collected red cards for fun and was eventually sacked for being a fat bastard. He really had nobody to blame but himself.
I think he got 7/8 assists and won a penalty. He won a fair few free kicks as well. The one dawson scored against everton and and the one against west ham (which bullard claimed) I think
Here's his stats for 2010/11(club and country): Games started - 16 Sub appearances - 9 Total appearance - 25 Goals - 4 Assists - 1 He can buy the odd decision, but when it comes to assists, he's certainly no Nani.
