i guess thw new house has the painting done and the curtains put up. he obviously needs some time to finish the garden? is his contract up next summer by chance?
Bad luck for the lad and I wish him a speedy recovery, but we must move on quickly. I would have sold him last January (we discussed it on here - got to be a good board when we actually discuss things!!). His final figures stacked up as a 1 in 3 striker, but the raelity was that he under-performed and should have been a 1 in 2; the assists he received were many and mainly quality, and even though he was played in a lone and exposed role he did not do justice to our wonderful tippy-tap football. Some on here have said that Simpson is not the answer, but I can't see that; Simpson has done everything asked of him and there is more to come. Aluko, a man with magic in his feet, is also showing how to attack the net. Then there is Quinn; he has the same radar that pulls him goal-bound! Fryatt is a loss, but let's keep our feet on the ground, he is hardly indispensible - our problem is not attack (how wonderful to say that!), it is defence (who would have thought!), so I hope our owners do not splash the cash on an expensive striker but invest (wages/loan) on a stopping midfielder and bolster our suffering backs - when you play such an attacking formation you must expect your backs to take a hammering and they have! Keep the formation, it works (almost), don't get mathered about a player who has not contributed to this season's splendid attacking football and focus on stopping the leaking defence. McShane can play a role, as he has the experience and ability, but most importantly he has something to prove. A good manager will deprive players games to make them hungry and now is the time for McShane and NickP to earn trhe accolades - both are easily capable and both are now ready; as is the occasion.
I think we should have sold Matty Fryup. If I remember rightly, I was referred to as a clown by OLM and a few others. I dont think we NEED him at the moment. we should have got rid back then before he became injured when we had the chance. NOW who in their right mind will buy a player that will have come out of an operation?
I can't remember if I referred to you as a clown or not, but as you think we should get rid of last seasons top scorer because we don't need him, then I might well have done.
I can't justify the comments you have responded to, but don't look at Fryatt's season end as the be-and-end-all. Up to the Xmas braek he was worse than ****e and that is when you make your decisions. Scoring when it counts for **** all is simply that, **** all!
Personally, I love watching Matty play, I accept that he takes too many touches and scores less than he could as a consequence, but he's great on the ball and I think we look a better team with him playing. Just my opinion.
well he is doing **** all for us at this minute is he? If we'd have sold him then, he'd have been crocked on someone else's time and then claiming his wages from them for sitting on his arse instead of off of us! I suppose hindsight is 20/20
Are you suggesting that we do more to predict an injury before its happened? It's genius. But how much does Mystic Meg cost?
You're not wrong, we should ship out Aluko and Quinn tomorrow, before they get injured and become a liability. Thank **** we've nipped that one in the bud. Wibble.
It was not pre-sight, just football mallam, we've been there before! Sometimes you get a feel for a player and Fryatt just almost got there, but never did! Once we moved on I just wanted him to prove me wrong (bring out the Humble Pie, again), now we move on!

no funny buggers. I don't get what OLM's affinity is with losers. He wanted Nicky to stay on, even after his disastrous foray into what could be deemed as management. And now Fryatt? Am I missing something? maybe it is a Lambretta.
Thanks for that, I love to reminisce, I was on fire on that thread, I surprise myself sometimes. I admire you for posting the link, what with you looking a clown and everything....
I also put that hindsight is 20/20......... IF you're gonna quote me to make a point, please use THE WHOLE of the quote.
So after we'd sold our top goal scorer from last season, who would we have brought in? Serious question warrants serious answer. Do you give all City's players unfunny nicknames like Matty Fryup and all?
Fryatt's a good footballer, but it's all down to timing - just like Bullard. The difference is, Matty battled against form and opinion, consumate professional. Bullard battled gainst his own demons. Matty is a professional athlete, he has a talent, I would like to see him fulfill that talent.
