I don't think City will get out the group, they needed to win that game to have a fighting chance, it's totally out of their hands now, on today's evidence I see Dortmund beating City at their place no problem. If that happens its as good as over. Don't be sure Dortmund can't get a result home or away v Madrid either as I can see Madrid dropping points as well.

City need a mini miracle now. They certainly have to win at least 3 of their remaining games, 2 of which are away to Dortmund and at home to Real

I'm happy because I like Dortmund. District, again I have to agree with your last two posts. This is getting crazy,me a Spurs supporter agreeing more often than not with a Chav. It cannot continue. Stay on our board even though you don't agree Chelsea are on a lucky flight of shight.

I'm a big fan of Dortmund as well. Proper club with proper fans unlike Munich who are Germany's answer to United. I enjoy watching Dortmund probably more than any other team in Europe. I've nothing against City but I want Dortmund to get through.

If we get out the group and get Dortmund I'd book my flights out there the next hour, the stadium looks brilliant.

If Dortmund beat Madrid even once City are as good as in the Europa League. Which is bad news for the teams like Spurs, Liverpool and co working hard to qualify for the next stage. CL dropouts should not be allowed in the Europa League

Dortmund's south terrace holds more fans than Reading's stadium.
Shame it's seated for CL games.

Mancini will treat the EL as he did last year...he won't bother, he'll just concentrate on the league. With United and you still in CL, and City with no Euro commitments (if they go out) it'll be all out to retain their title.

City's 2nd XI could do well in the competition anyway though, Notso.
None of this lot started today: Pantilimon; Maicon, Richards, Lescott, Kolarov; Sinclair, Rodwell, Barry, Milner; Tevez, Balotelli.
Mancini was right about them needing more players, though... <whistle>

We might not get through yet. Shaktar are a very good side, if they beat us in Donetsk I reckon we're as good as put providing Juventus win as expected

Many PL clubs want to copy that model, namely Spurs and Chelsea

Maybe it would PNP, but having shown no inclination last time, I just can't see him wanting the distraction, which lets face it, it is to those teams. He'd still have to go abroad himself, and I really doubt he can be arsed, I just think his time will be better spent in England. With United and Chelsea preoccupied he won't get a better opportunity to retain the PL.

    Dear Man City,
We were much better at this Champions League lark that you've been.

    Love,
    Spurs

City for me still have by a mile the best squad in the league. If City go out of the CL and Chelsea and United progress as expected, I'd say its borderline criminal of Mancini not to retain it. As it is they should win it but with United and Chelsea handicapped by Europe as well as Arsenal and all other immediate rivals that trophy should have their names on it.

I still think City will win it, I can't see how United, Chelsea or Arsenal/Spurs can realistically change that

To be fair they've had two groups of death. I don't even think Chelsea or United would make it out of those groups in either year

Expecting DL to relish this, but honestly i'd say our 'second XI' is stronger than that.

To those praising Dortmund (and rightly so), i thought i'd add this titbit. Signal Iduna Park (Westfallenstadion if you hate sponsors) has the highest average attendance of any stadium in europe, more than the Camp Nou, Santiago Bernabeau and Old Trafford. Thats support.

It helps that their terrace season tickets cost just 200 euros, this in the strongest economy in Europe. All down to lower player wages, hasn't stopped them from being competitive.

Cabaye said in a recent interview that he turned down the opportunity to join Spurs.
Pardew's now rubbished that claim, rather confusingly:
"There was no offer from Spurs so Yohan didn't get that opportunity."

What's the idea behind the player's boast, then?
Angling for a new contract or a move, perhaps?

    It's one of three options:
i.) His wages are somewhere between £25-30k per week, so he's angling for a pay raise
ii.) He's one year into a five-year contract, so naturally that means the grass is always greener somewhere else
iii.) He got crossed wires, as it was Arsenal repeatedly linked with him during the summer

I'm watching Liverpool V Udinese and it's scrappy. Udin are very vulnerable down the right with Liverpool having penetrated their defence a number of times there. Liverpool lack the finish though.
