Seeing as many of us are football fans too, seemed like it'd be a good idea to have an O/T thread where we can talk about it as much as we like without it taking over the F1 threads.

Norwich City :)emoticon-0107-sweat) fan myself (hence Canary), although I'd rather not talk about yesterday right now - it's too painful! What about everyone else?

    Same here, Filthy manc. <laugh>

Don't steal any more of our captains. One ungrateful dutchman was enough.

Gotcha, thats gotta be fun, seeing as there is that whole Liverpool-Man Utd rivalry. And I understand where you're coming from with that, the sport has definitely gone down a bit with all the antics and play-acting. I still follow it all though, and at least my team usually play pretty tough and don't do any of that stuff.

Oh dear Van Persie...You guys are actually doing all right though, a draw against City isn't so bad right? And plus, you guys are getting close to having Wilshere back, who is really good.

    Hazard, Oscar and Torres.

    Enough said about that matter.

Still waiting for Torres to get back to his old form, which will probably never happen. Hazard is great, although I still can't get over that horrible attempted backheel in his first game <laugh> Oscar is also quite good. His second goal against Juve was outstanding.

I think Torres will get back close to his Liverpool form and he's been good so far this season to be honest.

Yes Hazard's failed backheel against Man City in the Community Shield made me laugh even as a Chelsea fan. <laugh>

Oscar's a wonderful talent isn't he. I watched him at London 2012 for Brazil and he was just a star. He will develop into a world class player if Chelsea play him a lot.

Torres has actually been doing ok so far this season, so I hope he keeps it up, because he used to be a wonderful player to watch.

I feel like fan or not you had to laugh, although I think he was just trying really hard to impress and was probably really nervous (understandably)

Agreed, Oscar was brilliant during the Olympics, one of the standout performers in what is honestly and mostly mediocre Brazil side. Slowly moving Lamps out of the squad then? Still wondering if he is ever gonna come play in the States. Come join Becks in LA <laugh>

Haha, the problem with Lampard is that when he is played with Mikel he wants to score goals and often bombs forward leaving Mikel exposed on the counter.

Lamps is 14 goals behind Bobby Tambling's all time goal scoring record in all competitions for Chelsea maybe that's why he bombs forward...

I will say for someone who plays as a midfielder he has a really impressive goal tally. Maybe a couple more years in the prem, then we he turns 36 spend a year or two in the states? Or maybe he will retire, but clearly he can still compete at a high level for a few more years. I mean just look at Scholes and Giggs.

Now that I think about it, this has been completely derailed from F1 hasn't it?

I'm a Hammer, used to go to Upton Park a lot when I was a lad but havn't been since they took the fun out of losing by making everything all-seater. Watch the odd game on t'internet, but like BLS I've got tired of the cheating, acting and the ridiculous wage demnds of players, I certainly wouldn't fork out the price of a ticket to go to UP to watch the overpaid prima donnas, rather spend the money going Karting.

I think by now we're used to it, but still, I hope we at least give you guys a test. A draw would be a nice result, but I'm not expecting to much.

Also, nice to see a fellow Hammers fan Miggins!

Derby fan, suffered badly through the last decade although yesterday was one of the better days beating our bitter rivals Forest for the third time in a row!

Winning against your rival is always a good thing, although I do remember you guys had it tough in the Prem when you were back into the top flight a few years back. That always happens the first season back up from the Championship though. I'm expecting West Ham to have a tough time once we face the strong teams in the league.

Rest assured, no one will ever be as bad as the Derby County team of 2007/08, i reckon a not606 team could have done better! (If we all got ourselves into shape)

Anyway hope the hammers do well this year, half of my family are from there so i have a bit of a soft spot for them
