I think it's mostly started this season with Perez's upturn in form, people have been questioning his right to be team leader when he's being beaten by a near-rookie, and the fact that his banzai overtakes have become less frequent with it (Ignoring his bad luck but that's another argument entirely) He does have his reckless moments too I like the Senna quote in your signature, hadn't heard that one before probably sums my thoughts about F1 up in fairness, I can't really bring myself to dislike any driver or throw my weight behind any one team.
I love Kamui, hope he has a long career in F1 and can at least get 1 shot at the WDC. But after this season he has been very quiet on track apart from Spain really, hopefully this weekend can bring him back to what he was around 09-10.
It's the car, he's said he has no faith in it. As i said on the other thread, it was designed around the mexican oil well.
Thanks! I thought it was a pretty good quote too, and seemed to sum up how I feel about the sport most of the time (I've had my moments where I've disliked drivers for certain reasons)
Shame if that's the case, you could design a car around Lewis and Kamui in the same team and he would give him a run for his money.
I do remember him saying that at some point as well. Its not terribly surprising considering his form from this year. I just hope he doesn't lose his seat at Sauber
Agreed, I think Kobayashi would be a tough competitor and would push Hamilton a lot. They're both pretty aggressive and have similar driving styles so I feel like it'd be easier to design a car around them both. Still not sure if Kobayashi would be good enough to beat Hamilton, but I'd support him over Hamilton anyways.
My most memorable moments with Kamui will always be Suzuka '11 with him fighting like crazy to get into Q3 and with the ****storm that he didn't get 7th which followed. Also on Sunday kneeling while the chore singing with the respect of the dead with the tsunami earlier in the year.
I'm worried he will. As a fan of his i feel he should stay, but i have a niggling feeling next years lineup will be Esteban Gutierrez and Jaime Alguersuari. Welcome to the forum by the way.
Thank you Thank you, nice to feel welcomed. But yea, I'm pretty worried too. Gutierrez is supposed to be really talented (I honestly didn't see much of him when he was in GP3 or now in GP2) and I always thought Alguersuari was ok, but I think Kobayashi is better than both of them and deserves to retain his seat. Its not as if he has been bad this year, but getting outdriven by his younger teammate surely hasn't been helping his cause. I just don't have a clue where he could possibly go if he lost his drive.
I get the feeling we won't be seeing Kamui in a Sauber next year to. I can see him ending up in Caterham however, which in the long run may be good for him and his career.
