Anyway lads I've had enough of this for a couple of days. Today was brown trousers stuff and I'm exhausted. Have we broken the spell of late conceding of goals? That's two matches in a row. Anyway all,see you Wednesday. Cheers, some bloody good debate today.

Simon Dawkins goal:

Seems like he's doing well for himself over there. Good luck to him.

VDV was on itv4 last night playing for Hamburg in a Bundesleague(? Spelling) Highlights programme.Had a hand in one goal, as hamburg won 3-2.

Apparently Defoe has now reached the same number of goals as Keane did at Spurs(122) in exactly the same number of games(303). Weird coincidence, eh?

Interesting. Does it say how many were games as sub? I imagine Defoe has more sub appearances. On the other hand, Keane played a fair few seasons where we were absolute ****e.

Troy Archibald-Henville scored for Swindon tonight, always nice to see former academy players doing well for themselves in the lower leagues <ok>

Agreed. Troy is one of many who has had the burden of being labelled the "next Ledley King" hanging over him. He was a reasonable enough defender for us, but his style of play is not easy on the eye, as while he is effective enough, he does still look like bambi on ice when he is moving with the ball. He also has the first touch of a hippo on ice skates which doesn't help.

Bostock didn't manage to get on the pitch again. He'll do well to earn a living in the football league at this rate.

What's the point in Bostock being out on loan if Di Canio doesn't pick him? Recall him and send him to a side where he'll actually get some game time, FFS.

I see this morning that Harry's obsession with veteran goalkeepers has not diminished, with the news that David James is expected to sign for Bournemouth. Apparantly he was "reccommended" to the club by Harry.

The first tiff between Harry and Levy was over Harry's determination to sign James for us. James is based in Newton Abbot in Devon and not only wanted a large wage but also a substantial relocation deal which Levy refused to pay for a player of James's age.

As someone accurately said on another thread a few days ago, if Harry was still with us, we'd have signed Robert Green not Hugo Lloris.

I am led to believe the Metro did say Carlo played. It's the BBC who are misquoting the Metro (apparantly).
