Good point, of the 4 last English winners 3 have benefitted from the lottery of a penalty shootout, only United winning in open play.
Benitez never won a trophy with Liverpool in open play. No team wins the league if they can't win the big matches in 90 minutes, simply because big matches in the league don't have penalty shootouts at the end.
