Was it just me, or was anyone else impressed with him yesterday?

I was only watching the match live on stream but from what I saw I thought he looked really good. He was strong and got through a lot of break-up play and when he had the ball he seemed to distribute it really well.

Maybe the midfield ball-winner we've been lacking?

I'm undecided. He looked lost when he came on, but he improved as the game went on, but apart from a good through ball to Amoo, there was not a lot else to judge him on, I didn't think he made too many intereptions, but he didn't lose the ball much either(it can't have been easy to make his first team début in a game like yesterdays).

I remain undecided about Amoo too, it was a decent finish yesterday, but his positioning is absolutely shocking, he still looks like he's never played football before.

I still don't think he's good enough. I know he scored so it's harsh to complain but there was a long time between picking up the pass and actually getting the shot off. If he always takes that long to steady himself, 99 times out of 100 he'll be tackled by a defender before he's even pulled his foot back.

And like you said his positioning is terrible, he runs around like a headless chicken.

Amoo isn't in the same parish as Cameron Stewart. That was a well taken goal yesterday, but that is all he has done in the time he has been at City. Stewart though has tied defences up in knots countless times and shows more pace than Amoo. I've no doubt Amoo is quick, but if you don't show it, what's the point in having it.

As for Akpan, I'm not suggesting we sign him on the basis of one game, but considering he is a young kid and that game was his first (and a very difficult game to start in) I think he did well (the ball to Amoo was superb). Hope (see what I did there?) NP gives him starts in the two remaining games.

As for Belaid, well he is obviously not going to be offered anything as with the option thing he would surely have played by now.

I think there's a decent chance of us seeing Akpan in the last couple of games, with Rosie, Koren and Evans all out now, it's an ideal opportunity to see what he can do.

All the better for us if we try to get him in the future- plenty of potential there for the coaching staff.

hopefully both will be given the chance on Saturday, I haven't seen either play so it would be nice to see them get 90 minutes

I don't like what I've seen of Amoo. I can only judge by the little I've seen of him at the home games.

I look forward to Cameron Stewart been fit again because he's twice the player. Shame he is going to miss the start of the season.

Akpan had decent vision, his positional sense looked ten times better as the game got on. His match fitness it not there, which is way i don't think you can really judge him yet. However for a game against QPR i thought he played well, far better than others in midfield. He has the talent it will be interesting to see whether he reaches it.

i was there and once he found his feet he did very well - and dont forget he is 19! Was bullied off the ball by derry a little but as i say, he is 19. Definately one for the future if we can afford him and he doesnt have a better offer. A first team regular before xmas if he signs. He will also score goals.

Thought both Akpan and Amoo held back a bit when going in for 50-50 balls, so rarely won them.
OK when on the ball and their positional play will improve in time.

i thought the same, didnt know anything about him to be fair, but had heard he was a ball winner...didnt even attempt a 50/50..so they either dont make ball winners like they used too, or he isnt....definatley improved on the ball wise as the game went on, would be good to see him given a couple of starts to see how he settles in..

I wasn't too enthused by either players performance, but they did OK. Akpan kept pulling out of 50:50 headers and challenges, so it looks like Cairney's been helping him in training.
