Wrong.

If what you said was true it would make the anonymous system for reporting drug dealers in your area absolutely useless.

It's the polices job to investigate claims and decide if any further action should be taken.

Do you think a Sherrif would grant a search warrant for a whole street on the say so of an accused criminal?

You don't think it is incumbent upon the person conducting the investigation to evaluate the "value" and reliability of the information provided?

In this instance no specific allegation against any specific party made to nobody in particular from an unreliable source....

Do you think the police would ask for a search warrant without doing any investigating?

How did you manage to go from accusation to search warrant?

And the starting point of that investigation would be a specific allegation against a specific party for a specific wrongdoing from a reliable source.

Do you think the police would ask for a search warrant without doing any investigating?

How did you manage to go from accusation to search warrant?

How do the Police investigate people growing weed in their houses without obtaining a Warrant? Stick their noses through the letterboxes of 100 houses?

Dont be idiotic.

So you gonna answer me or not?

Because if what all you taigs are saying is true the government and the police waste an awful lot of money on sending out leaflets urging anonymous people to let them know if they have any suspicions.

But then again taigs know better than everyone so they obviously know better than the government and the police <ok><sitdown>

How do the Police investigate people growing weed in their houses without obtaining a Warrant? Stick their noses through the letterboxes of 100 houses?

No they investigate claims by members of the public of strange activity or investigate based on the concerns of electric companies.

If that fails they always have the heat cameras on helicopters.

You're so full of ****e its beyond a joke.

People are of course invited to come forward with information. To institute an investigation based on that information it needs to be given a value. Some crackpot saying something is not a reason to start an investigation.

How do the Police investigate people growing weed in their houses without obtaining a Warrant? Stick their noses through the letterboxes of 100 houses?

A method I do believe they used last year during the cold period was to spot which houses did not have snow setting on their roof.

I also think they check the ammount of electricity used for certain properties.

Shouldn't you know this?

So unsubstantiated accusations from a nobody should lead to an investigation of Celtic fc? I think it's you who inhabit a strange world, seriously.

How exactly does he know what contracts Celtic operated? If he alleged that Celtic were operating a child prostitution ring at Lennoxtown would an investigation be justified?

Lest we forget the reason this investigation was launched, Hugh Adam, a former Rangers Director blew the whistle.

I'm afraid the say so of a complete and utter tit like Johnston is not sufficient reason to investigate Celtic.

Unsubstantiated accusations from a doddering former Rangers director which suit Celtics agenda = investigation definitely needed

Unsubstantiated accusations from a former Rangers chairman which don't suit Celtics agenda = investigation? what a ludicrous suggestion

Possibly at premises where they have grounds to believe that vulnerable people might live there. Not random letterboxes.

They don't check random electricity readings either.

Acquiring such information (on electricity meters) would be reliant on RIPA and its equivalent(s) for which they would have to satisfy particular criteria to obtain it.

Not on the basis of random vague accusations.

Police are carrying out enquiries in Dundee after a cannabis farm was discovered at a multi-storey building in the city.

Officers discovered about 40 plants on Monday morning when Tayside Fire and Rescue responded to a report of smoke coming from a flat in Lansdowne Square.

The scene has been secured and further forensic examinations were being carried out on Wednesday.

Tayside Police said they were following a positive line of enquiry.

The force also made a plea to the public to report any suspicions they have of premises possibly being used for cannabis cultivation.

I'll take an apology from you now.

So you think an investigation was instituted on the strength of what Hugh Adam said?

Now you are sounding paranoid.

the proposition was someone gets arrested for drug possesion in their home and if they then say " everyone in the street also is in possession of drugs " the police will proceed to investigate everyone in the street. The chances of this occurring are exactly zero.

You are wasting your breath.
