What a difference between the two former city favourites, Burke working his socks off for Brum with energy, spirit and endeavour, and Betty, substituted today, moaning on Twitter constantly. I wonder if he regrets leaving us, as it seems to have been all downhill since. Love Burke back!

dont know what endeavour you were talking about, birmingham were getting thumped 5-0 when i flicked over, the ground looked about 10% full.

as for bothroyd, he's got an attitude problem and has throughout his career, and jones managed to get him playing for 3 years here. dont blame him for trying his luck in the PL but he fell short of the required standard. didnt want him back and nothing has changed my view.....<ok>

DJ revived his career, put him in the shop window for his 1 cap and he decided he was better than us. He did a job while he was here (undoubted talent, questionable attitude). He owes us nothing, we owe him nothing. Can't say I want him back purely down to his attitude as it would be disruptive.

If Cardiff were able to hold onto Burke last season .... they'd be in the Premier this season IMO .

Would too ...Burke was exactly what you were missing last season , great guy on the outside that already had time in with the club . Should have never let him get away ... just an opinion though hilts . Guess will never know for sure , but Burke was sharp in a position that cried for someone ..

He was part of what we were missing last season. Someone with pace.

However we finished 6th through hard work throughout the season.

West Ham finished 3rd and in the play offs showed there was a big difference between the 2 sides.

We got early points through hard work but we ran out of steam and ideas.

Weve got a far better side this year. But still may not be good enough.

My problem with Hudson was always that Jones paid well over the odds.

However I was wrong. Hes worth every penny of the transfer fee.

If he had any sort of pace hed be playing for a top PL team.

for a relegated club shipping goals left right and centre with hudson at the heart of it, charlton fans knew they struck gold with selling him to us for £1m. he was very poor for the first season or two and was often the culprit for many goals conceded.

however fair play to him, he's the first name on the team sheet now and all the fans acknowledge how important he is........as hilts said he's proved to be worth every penny and more.....

Many questioned the purchase price at the time but Huds has proved his worth since coming on board.
As for Burke getting us to the premiership, interesting though, he would have helped the team with some pace out wide but as already stated by hilts, he was only one player and I think we'd still not have got promoted.

Cardiff had a great " Lunchbox , Blue collar " team last season that lacked pace . Burke not only would have brought that pace but is the type of player that inspires others with his quality moves & tricky nature , never mind his hard work rate . Another thing , how do you explain Routledge at Cardiff & Routledge at Swansea . He was " ok " at Cardiff in the Championship but super with us in the Premier ... go figure .

Burke has the look of a good old fashioned winger, the kind I used to watch in the sixties. He doesn`t look modern or fashionable, but my goodness he seemed to be the only one firing for Brum against Barnsley last week. Would welcome him back, and I bet he wants away!

    Breezy again id disagree.

Routledge was superb for us on loan.

Id say he had a at best average 1st season with you. Unsure about this season.

BUT I saw your Everton game and I thought he had a poor game. Better than Guzman though.

Swansea look a team where the players all want to attack but no steel.

Are big thing is our " 5 man " midfield over the past 6 dozen seasons or so . The 5 man midfield against Everton consisted of 4 of Laudrup's players he brought in & Routledge . You just can't throw in a bunch of new midfielders & expect our regular display ... to much , to quick . Throw in Taylor missing on defense & Tate in for one of our regular CB's & it was a receipe for disaster .I'll take your word for how Routledge played at Cardiff as you'd know better , never liked Routledge before he came to us ... didn't like the manner in which he drove off from Cardiff but seems to get along with us . Good luck against Blackpool today , I wonder which Bluebird team shows up today , the really good team or the real bad one ....

Have to be at our best.

I think Blackpool will go up as Champions.

Id take 4 points from our next 2.

They'll have to be ALOT better than they were on Monday if they're going to win this division. Huddersfield snuffed out Ince and they really struggled to get going at all.

Impossible to say we'd have gone up with Burke but I'll agree we'd have been a lot closer if he'd had a season for us like he did at brum. We don't need him back now though.
