For those that went today I'm interested to see how he got on? I think he'll be in contention to start the last two games. What was the matter with Evans? Do we know if we'll see him again this season? Thats a lot of questions, what happened to the player ratings thread?
Didn't he assist on the goal today? This would have been a hard game for him to come into and I think we'll see more him in the next 2 games.
I'll be delighted to be wrong but I'm not sure his touch and passing is going to be the answer to what we need. If we could be a bit more confident, then next season could be very interesting. Mannone Rosenior Hobbs/Gerrard/Ayala New LB Stewart Chester Evans New LW Simpson Fryatt
Did you lot watch a different second half to myself? First half he was lost and did not look sure what he was doing, which is fair seen as he is not match fit. Second half he was the best player on the park for me, his vision was decent and he was willing to spread the play and play a forward pass which is a lot more than the midfield where doing before. Considering this was his first professional game he played well.
i was under the impression he was a ball winner, yet he appears to be as much a ball winner as cairney and harper, or orville the duck.. got involved more in the 2nd half on the ball, agree it must be a difficult game to debut in tho, we desperatley need a midfield enforcer in the summer, if we werent been out muscled and bullied, we where just content to stand and watch there players do step overs and show off, it might be not the beautiful way to do things, but theres times when you have to kick lumps out of people to let them know your there, and we just dont have that at the minute...
Same game, different things we saw. I'm looking forward to watching it again on Tiger Player, it'll be easier watching it a few times. "Hope" I'm mistaken.... I was watching Harper quite a bit today and he was poor again (I think we've given him the benefit of the doubt for two long). However another watch on Tiger Player might turn him inot Makelele
The commentators of five live were full of praise for akpan, sounded quite promising! Im sure he will get a chance in the last two games to show what he can do!
I thought it wasn't one of his worst games, in fact, the ball to the QPR player that led to their goal was class.
