After being sat on the sidelines and seeing the new style of play, maybe Evans might thinking ''I want to be involved in that'' and up his play. Just a thought
MAYBE just maybe Corry evans may do a Joe Allen role for Liverpool (ableit in a better team than the Scousers ). Keep the ball and give it to someone more creative to do with, and when it gets defensive, does his job? People should stop being so damn negative; he did well for us for the last one and a half seasons... give the lad a chance. 3-0 City tomorrow, can't see Leeds scoring.
Woah! Watch it, L**ds fans may be around and that score prediction will make them cry a little and explain to us how amazing they were around 100 years ago, clearly proving that a scoreline such as that is impossible...
To be fair they probably see this as an FA Cup Third Round tie where they're still a "big" club who deserve to be in the Champions League never mind Championship and we're in the 3rd division. The hilarity when we beat them and they don't score will be VERY satisfying.
Definitely. To them, every fixture in this League should be a walkover and they should be winning the League with a 15 point gap between them and 2nd... They need to wake up because it's 2012 unfortunately L**ds fans. There are now teams that are of better quality than theirs!
If I was a vermin fan I would be pissing myself about some of the giddy ****s on this thread Calm down, ffs
It's a funny one really, last season I would've said centre-mid was a fairly strong position with McKenna, Evans and Cairney. Now we're looking at it as a weak link with Oli (who was barely considered last season) out. It's not as if Evans has got worse, it shows we must've got stronger. I'd have Kenna over Evans if he was fit as he likes a battle which is handy against dirty Leeds. I also think he's a better player than Evans. If Evans just sits deep though and knows his role, drops it off to the likes of Aluko, Quinn, Koren or one of the wing-backs we should be fine. On paper and on grass I think we're far superior to Leeds, however, there's something about going there that makes me think we'll probably lose. Having said that, I've got 2 cheeky bets on 4-0 and 4-1, 250/1 and 80/1 respectively.
http://www.footballcourier.com/news/story/1501489/race-against-time-for-olofinjana/full_story.html Apparently Big Oli MIGHT be fit. Spoke too soon! http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20120917/boss-digs-deep-for-hull-clash_2247585_2921655? Oh and this was on the City NewsNow page; looks like TWS are really struggling
Who says Oli is out of the TWS game ? Yes he is a doubt but Steve Bruce says he will be given until the last moment ? Then again why risk Oli with Lesta so close to hand. TWS have far bigger problems re. team selection.
One other option IF Oli has to miss the game would be to move Faye into Oli's role as a deep sitter. Chester plays centre of the defence with Rosenoir on the right. But the simpler choice is just bring in Evans.
one thing Oli has added apart from playing well is more hight and physical build into the midfield area, tomorrow night if Evans plays our three midfielders are all around Five foot 8" or under
What a joyous day that was. But with our form and TWS injury problems it could be similar to our last scoreline @ Scunny 2 years ago. Hope so. Lol. Agreed. But thats some Hull City fans for you. I hope McShane does get some game time and wipes out that fooooker Becchio. Now that would be worth a 3 game ban.
The official facebook page posted that Oli was out for the Leeds game, guessing that's where most people got it from, was probably tweeted too.
I saw the analysis of him on MOTD on Saturday night, and it was EXACTLY like watching City. It's too easy to play a simple ball to the defender, instead of turning, looking up and going for a killer through ball. We were a bit like it in the last 20-25 minutes against 'Wall at the weekend.
Leeds is always a tough game for us. We have been very lucky to take draws in the past. Even when out of form they raise their game. Yes it looks like they have a few injuries but it's 11 v 11 at the end of the days. Difference between squad players at and first teamers isn't as big as you may think. Also it's a Neil Warnock side, very rarely do you see them ripped to shreds, especially at Elland Road. Leeds away will always be a point won rather than two points lost. I'll go with a 1-1
