I will get Math21 back moooohahaha
What do you mean 'unleash'...![]()
I can write out what I sent off yesterday but will have to wait until I get home as I'm using my phone at the mo
The crux of what I put was that my complaint was either the WYP Chief Constable was either complicit in one of the biggest cover-ups in British history OR he was so incompetent at his job that he failed to understand during his involvement with West Midlands Polices enquiry that hundreds of statements had been altered for a reason. I also asked for confirmation about whether or not Mr Bettison knew about the scale of the statement changes. In his statement yesterday he said that he "didn't alter any statements or ask for any to be altered". What he didn't say was whether or not he knew how many statements had been altered. If he did know then why didn't he investigate further and if he didn't know then why is he in a position at the very top of a proffesion that surely requires some level of investigative ability?
Basically he is either totally corrupt or totally incompetent. Either way questions need to be asked (and answered).
You forgot that he's culpable of gross negligence and endangered lives.
Cracking stuff! Has anyone considered going directly to the ICPP with a formal compaint? One person may get turned away but thousands will add some serious weight to the investigation!
The only problem with all this is, is there was so many parties involved and all are culpable, that it could take years to get them all.
You're right SKD it is a long road, but the one we've just been on has been long so do we give up th efight for justice now or help bring to justice those that made th eroad so long?
Bit sickening on 5live this morning, on the way into work, pigs still covering their arses. They still can't put their hands up and admit it, even after a bishop calls them out. There is not a single morale fiber amongst the lot of them.
The action for justice has to be threefold:
Firstly a new Coroners enquiry that removes the 15.15 cut-off and returns a verdict of Unlawful Killing
Secondly, corporate charges against:
Sheffield Wendnesday Football Club
Sheffield City Council
The FA
THE SUN
South Yorkshire Police Authority
Whoever controlled the ambulance service.
(not necessarily in that order)
Individual charges against:
David Duckenfield for gross negligence and dereliction of duty
Nroman Battison and others who led the SYP cover-up for conspiracy and perverting the course of justice.
That should have read IPCC by the way.
Just copied this from their website which is extremely significant to the current situation:
People who work in the police service should behave appropriately at all times. Expectations about the behaviour of both police officers and members of police staff are set out in their respective Standards of Professional Behaviour. These standards are set out on many police force websites. They include requirements to:
•act with honesty and integrity, fairness and impartiality
•treat members of the public and their colleagues with respect
•not abuse their powers and authority
•act in a manner that does not discredit or undermine public confidence in the police service.
Not sure what everyone else thinks but there's reasons there beyond all doubt!
If you feel that someone working for the police has not met these standards, you can make a complaint.
I read that one of the consequences of the new report is that the SYP will re-open their investigation into the disaster...Weren't they the ****ers who doctored it the first time? WTF! What's to stop them doing it again. You can't make this **** up.![]()
Triple C. I think SYP want the IPCC to handle it, not the force themselves. I think.........................

I certainly hope you're right. Independent panel is the way to go. No vested interests.![]()

I Know, bloody Orwellian isn't it.A new inquiry must be independent and trustworthy.

Justice is a small word but a big concept. It is not the justice that you may feel is morally justifiable that will ultimately be dispensed and it is not the severity that you may wish for that will finally be ordered.
Let's take Duckenfield for starters. Now he is retired and probably in ill-health. Whilst that may not save him from having to face a criminal charge it will be considered by any court that hears that charge. It will also be considered in regard to any judgement that is finally imposed. The chances of him going to prison are slim and there would be possibly no action taken against his retirement pension. If he was advised to plead guilty to any charge then that too would be taken into account in his tarrif. Such a plea would also mean that the prosecutors could not cross-examine him regarding the cover-up conspiracy. According to the law justice will have been served even if it come nowhere near the severity considered appropriate by 'outsiders'.
As far as Bettison is concerned, others who were also involved in the management of the cover-up would have to identify him as a member of the 'committee'. I wonder if any senior SYP officer (past or present) would be willing to do that?
