While theres been a few threads on movies on various boards, it got me thinking, whicjh sequels are better than the first film.

TO get the ball rolling, Empire Strikes Back > A New Hope

    Any Tarantino fans?

Why do a lot of people think Pulp Fiction is better than Reservoir Dogs? I think Reservoir Dogs is infinitely better.

Just a personal choice thing that, I also prefer 'Dogs' but both are superb.

I do think some of the dialogue in Pulp Fiction is off the map brilliant, and maybe this makes it more accessible to more folk?

I get bored with Pulp Fiction, well the Bruce Willis bit anyway. Reservoir Dogs I can't fault at all.

Speaking of BW- Die Hard 2 > Die Hard, a bit controversial maybe.

T2 is simply the greatest film ever. Aliens comes a very close second.
Out of recent films, I loved the latest Batman film, seen it twice at the IMAX

Aliens 2 a better action film than the original and one of my favourites of all time but Alien is still one of the most claustrophobic films I've ever seen at the pictures. I went at the age of 15 (old Odeon on Pilgrim Street you could get in under age Lol) and you could feel the whole audience gasping for fresh air outside after the film.

The one thing that now spoils Aliens for me is Alien 3 as you now know that both Hicks and Newt die in the escape pod anyway. It was such an integral part of Aliens saving the little girl and seeing Hicks survive to then have them both die anyway.

    Just an aside. Lol

Also, got to mention the Bond films. Dr No was a fantastic beginning to the 50 year old franchise but then From Russia with Love and after that Goldfinger, were even better.

There's no real bad Bond films, just some are better than others.
