So, in Levy we have a chairmain/dof.

Is that healthy? doesn't strike me as being a positive (if it creates problems within the squad), as who is advising Levy on these players? for example who advised Levy on Sig and Verts?....his son?

Our scouts were certainly responsible for Sandro being signed, whilst according to Spurcat our scouts were in South America and Holland last season so that would explain Vertonghen (as well as Oscar and the never-ending Leandro shenanigans)

i suspect if Brad had been dropped immediately then many of the same people would have been vilifiying AVB for having no man management skills and reminded us of his time at chelsea where he shut some senior players out(or so they say)

there is tact involved in these delicate situations..if nothing else just see it like this..he has learned from his time at chelsea and is taking a diffrent approach by showing some respect to our senior players who he is planning on replacing....there will be plenty of games for both keepers....Brad will probably be our captain for Europa league ties..thus giving him the props he full well deserves whilst Lioris establishes himself as our main number 1.......but i do not expect all that after 1 game.

It is a tricky situation because it is much easier to drop a player who is not doing his job to the max.....Brad has shown us why he is one of the most respected players in the PL...AVB does not want to just drop him..that is quite disrespectful also...so im sure it is a matter of time..just not being done in the swashbuckling manner some of us want it.

Surely the correct way is for the scouts to identify a player, then the manager decides if they fit in with their plans.

Don't get me wrong, we have signed some fab players like Sandro, Sig & now Lloris but I would rather the manager always had the final say.

Well I'm glad you're beginning to understand the stature of Lloris now SL, a while ago you were disparaging the fact that he was captain of France IIRC.

For me some of these pro Brad comments coming from the likes of BAE are coming because maybe since the guy sees Brad on a daily basis he may have realised that Brad has had his confidence shaken by how so many people wish him to be dropped straight away etc..so he is just basically putting his arm around a team mate...once again it is about Brad not Lioris a 25 year old French international and captain..that in itself tells you that he will become our number 1.

Maybe the sentimental factor is why posters (and players) are coming out with the pro Brad comments. Brad, as I've said umpteen times is a great keeper and a model professional as well as a fantastic role model for any young keeper looking to make it in the game but it needs to be appreciated that those factors don't make him a better choice than Lloris.

Most of the arguments are based on assumptions and there is no doubt we have a group of posters ready to jump on AVB given the slightest of reasons.

What does it all come down to? We have a new goalkeeper who will in all probability become 1st choice in the not too distant future. We don't know when, it remains to be seen when the manager picks his team for the upcoming games.

Come Saturday Spurs will once again play football and then the games come thick and fast. We will have something tangible to discuss and it would be good if these discussions were based on observations rather than rehashed media comments.

I'm with you Spurlock your comments pretty much echo my thoughts on these matters.

As we were looking to sign Verts in January, there was an agreement to bring him in with the manager - the last one - as well as we'd look to bring him in during the summer, which we did. In that case I will give Levy a free pass, as the move was in the best interests of the team and the club.

No, it wasn't humour, I don't see whats funny about this subject at all, reading the first sentence following the headline, (thats right, headline, with a bit of wordplay same as newspapers, perhaps you don't read them, but thats what they do) may have given you a clue as to the context. We'd already heard from two too many people on this subject (AVB & Brad). Following that, LLoris decided to answer with his penny's worth whilst away from the club via the media ...again.

How you can draw a conclusion I've turned a very serious subject into something humouous is quite staggering, but then getting the wrong end of any stick going, is something you manage on a tediously regular basis with enormous aplomb. Every bloody thread has to turn into a massive over explanation to your over reaction. For that reason I avoid you like the plague, but seeing as you've dumped yer arse on my thread you leave me no choice to tell you how it is.

'Reading' a forum is just a pastime, I've not come across anyone who sticks with something they're so bad at, and comes across like they're having a coronary.

You've swanned back in here recently, waffling childishly about your milelong ignore list (while we're on that add me to it) getting respectable posters to alter sigs, that 'upset' you...oh give over ffs! and got everyone treading on eggshells...well, not me, man up or shut up.

I think everything post, both sides have been pretty much based on assumptions, no one truly knows what AVB is going to do with the players he has at his disposal so from our point of view it's just speculation, opinions and assumptions we use to try to validate our points.

I'll admit to not being a fan of AVB, many on here seem to like him and fair to play to them. AVB clearly has an amazing understanding of the game yet somehow it comes across to me that he doesn't know how to utilise his knowledge properly, though my point on this topic is not about whether I think AVB is making a poor decision or not, nor am I trying to jump on his back with every little thing possible, I've based my posts solely on who I believe to be the better keeper, regardless of the current form of Brad, thus meaning that (in my opinion) Lloris should be between the goal posts come the QPR game. I also felt that their was negativity towards Lloris joining because as I've previously said, I've seen posts on other threads in which people have questioned his signing along with fans I speak to on Twitter coupled with comments AVB made to MOTD after the NCFC game, it just seemed as if we weren't celebrating the fact we've signed an amazing player, arguably the biggest name in our squad along with Bale. His signing was probably over-shadowed by the fact we couldn't bring in Moutinho which was a huge disappointment but it seems some people may have used that disappointment to cloud their judgement on his signing.

For the record, I take with a pinch of salt what the media say about my club, I rarely read newspapers and I only ever check on the likes of BBC/ Sky Sports for transfer gossip and news on injuries (the only sites I vividly check is the OS and here funnily enough). Whether they choose to be pro AVB or not has no bearing on my opinion of the man and any other subject for the matter. I've based my opinions on Spurs, the players and AVB all from what I've witnessed and observed.
