But I did also read that he is the U21's all time top goalscorer, so I guess that has gone a long way to his call up
He is, with seven goals. Though that doesn't prove much, England's record U21 goal record is 13 goals, held jointly by two players, one of of which if Franny bloody Jeffers...
ROI are not in great shape at the min are they! Scraping a last minute win against Kazakhstan the other night!
A natural progression from the ROI under 21s. But it just a friendly against that power house of a country Oman.
Think it was just made up by the media about 3 years ago I was asked if I was Jeffers (i say asked but felt like I was been accused), the strange thing is I look nothing like him and I was walking down a street off Preston Road
Shame he was an utter pile of **** from the age of 20 onwards 18 goals in 49 games for Everton before an £8m switch to Arsenal. 19 goals in 168 more games for other clubs
What is it with these young lads. Loads of skill and pace then they get to about 20 yrs old and they lose it all? Is it the coaching, is it the fact that they get too big headed? I wish someone could tell me. If I was a coach I wouldnt change anything. I would just tell them to do what they have been good enough to do up to that age and keep doing it. Why the hell do they coach all this raw energy out of young players?
Or is it that they have lots of skill for a youngster but actually they have just developed faster then others their age then everyone else catches up and they no longer look so special
Aye although it was against Oman. Can't say I'm so anti him as some on here are. I think there's definitely a good little player in there, he just needs coaching on decision making and he needs to be less greedy. I have the feeling he'll do well for a champ or lower prem club if given the opportunity in the next couple of seasons.
