Mrs VdV has worked in Germany the whole time Rafa was at spurs, I just can't help but feel that AVB ok'd the transfer so it would be one less senior pro to deal with if things turned sour... Like at Chelsea
Yes, this must be the reason why he simultaneously must have ok'd the transfer in of other senior players such as Dempsey, Dembele and the FRANCE CAPTAIN while also ok-ing the transfer of the AJAX CAPTAIN earlier in the summer. Pretty **** job of ousting senior pros if that's his aim.
i'm losing the will the even bother arguing now. I actually still think we might have a good season and i think AVB could work out once the players have finally got it.
Exactly Spurm, that's why I keep it short and sweet. Wether people like it or not we are in 'transition' to want for a better word...and I'm backing AVB all the way...if he falls il put some of the blame on the Spurs fans who have joined the journalists in putting immense pressure on a young man trying his best to succeed. Like yourself I've had enough.
Maybe we need some nice links to how Porto played under AVB. I'm pretty sure that is what he is aiming towards. If we get that even 75% right we'll be very good to watch.
I think we do have the potential to be good ...along with positive AVB articles I'd like us to expose the hacks that love to put the knife in...once again 3 bloody games! I'm off to get the pot on so will be around later with another rant
I think that they've shown their hand already. The Fail have continued to print anything negative about us that they possibly can, as usual, but the reaction to this Lloris thing seals it. Rather than pointing out that Villas-Boas has taken a perfectly reasonable and sensible approach, whereas Deschamp's acted like a total ****er, they've twisted it to the opposite.
It hasn't occurred to the Mail that... a.) Lloris' transfer went through less than 24 hours before the Norwich game, so was ineligible to play b.) Lloris hadn't even trained with the squad before the Norwich game If he was eligible to play, he would've been in the squad - but the only time he would've trained with the squad was the pre-game warm-up, which is hardly time to work on a relationship with your back four.
I don't even think he's trained with the squad yet, Croydon. He went back to France to say his goodbyes after he signed, so I'm not sure he's even met the rest of the players, bar Kaboul and maybe Gallas.
It would surprise me if the Mail printed anything sensible. Yes Spurlock I feel the same, can't be bothered to debate with people who have made so many ridiculous projections for our season from 3 GAMES. 3 GAMES
Lets be honest, Lloris wouldn't have joined if he weren't guaranteed the number 1 jersey, with all due respect, he could quite easily have joined a European powerhouse in the Champions League if Lyon were that desperate to sell. I'm actually quite surprised there hasn't been much hype around his signing from Spurs fans, I'm not sure people realise the calibre of the lad. He's up there with the best in his position and although I believe Friedel has been more than brilliant between the sticks for us, Lloris is on another level. In terms of the worlds best keepers, you'd have him up there along with Casillas, Buffon, Valdes, Hart & Neuer. Absolutely chuffed with his signature.
Typical response from you if anyone dare criticise AVB, the players you mention are all "his" signings if you like, not senior pros already at Spurs. Daws and thud to name but two were almost out the door too I'm surprised gallas is still at the club It's ok you know for people to have different opinions than yours, And if I hear ****ing Porto mentioned again I'll scream, you can wet dream if you want about Porto, I'll remember the balls up and dressing room unrest that happened at Chelsea. As I've stated before I hope he turns out to fantastic for our club, but I've got nagging doubts. Try not to force YOUR opinion on people who don't rate him quite as highly as you do
i remember seeing some oftheir games in the Europa league a couple of years ago, thre fooball was as good as anything we can produce, and they also attacked with pace, very impressive.
Aside from Bale, Walker and Lennon, we don't have that sort of pace available in our first team. Townsend and Rose must be fancying their chances, though.
We should not be rating him at all yet, it would be far better if you reserved your opinion of AVB later in the season which ever way. He is not managing Porto or Chelsea now he is the Spurs manager and we would all be better off if we showed him some support rather than this constant referring back to his previous jobs. Is it not possible to understand that moaning about his past and judging him after just 3 GAMES is not helping Spurs at all, you are just playing the media's game for them. How about sitting back letting the season unfold and see what happens.
I'm far from convinced AVB has handled the Lloris situation well. We have only two world class players, him and Bale. Why disrespect Lloris by suggesting a 41 year old keeper is ahead of him. Just say nothing if you can't find words to praise up our most highly rated signing of the summer. To me, it adds futher weight to the poor opinion I'm already forming of AVB.
Lloris may well be our most highly rated siging of the summer, but he is not 'world class'. For goodness sake, I know you're desperate to see Friedel replaced, but to call Lloris world class, is simply naive.
Fair enough, i won't argue, if you say he's not world class. But for sure he's more highly-rated than Brad so for AVB to undermine him doesn't sit well with me. BTW, I rate Brad highly as a person and a great professional, but Lloris our number 1 now, and to undermine that, i don't like one bit.
