Cobblers!That was a bloody awful display and it doesn't look like a one off.I don't boo but I do curse...a lot!!!!
If you want to charge the fans an arm and a leg to watch,they deserve to let someone know that crap is crap.
Other teams fans are used to their teams turning out rubbish.We are Spurs and though we rarely seem to win much these days we won't put up with rubbish on the field!
If the boo boys include the season ticket holders.Good.They are probably morgaging their house for the privilege of their seat.
So I would like the players to get together,shake hands,introduce themselves and look at the Spurs badge on their shirts and not disgrace the old club.
 
I don't know who you're saying 'cobblers' to Smithy, but I wish the fans who think their entrance money gives them the right to boo and slag off our players would **** off.

Better a half empty stadium with proper supporters than the moanners who populate the Lane now and for years before.
 
Agree th the OP 100%.
Booing achieves nothing positive and I would think actually has a negative impact.
Doing it 2-3 games into a manager's tenure when he's lost 3 of our 4 best players makes Spurs fans look like twats

I think the booing was a peception that what they were watching was not an acceptable performance based on last few seasons.
Having said that booing is a natural reaction to what we don't like.
I would have booed Halsey for the overreaction to Huddlestone's tackle, not a red- AVB said they will appeal.
Old saying you pay your money you are entitled to your opinion- how else does the players & manager know the fans aren't happy.
Yes I will give them all the time they need to get it right.
 
I've said in previous posts I don't agree with booing. But I can understand the frustration of the people that do boo.

Needs to be appreciated that when you pay a lot of money for something, you want to be entertained. Spurs are not entertaining the fans at the moment with their displays. The fact we also have, on paper, a tremendously talented squad (far greater than WBA & Norwich), the expectations are higher now for us to succeed - whether that be top 4 finishes/ trophies as well as winning and winning in style.

Like I said, I don't boo, don't see the point as it won't change things, I've been going 7 years straight now to all home games and touch wood, I'll be able to go for another 7 and so on BUT I won't slag off the people that do decide to boo, I fully understand their frustration, it's the same as mine and I'm sure the same as many others, they just choose to vent theirs in the stadium, currently, I'm venting mine on here as I'm sure many have noticed :D

Booing the team - or individuals - during a game is never acceptable.

I have to say that some of the football played in the first half v Norwich was very poor. The misplaced passing, lack of coordination and the probs of Defoe along up front etc etc was dispiriting to say the least.
But this is a team in transition with new players to the club being introduced all over the park. And there will be some teething troubles - for a few weeks I would imagine. Despite that, things did improve in the 2nd half with the intro of Mousa and Ade.

And we should also not forget that there are few if any bad sides in the PL. We bemoaned a last minute draw against WBA - but they went off and comprehensively beat Everton, one of the sides of the season so far, . Norwich are a well drilled side with a shrewd tactical manager, who we lost to at home last year with our supposed 'best team'.

I have my reservations about AVB, but want him to succeed - because that will mean success for the club that I love!! Give him and the players some time - and believe!!

I've been a Spurs fan since 1953 and there was many a time I would argue with Arsenal fans that we were so good(even though we were rubbish...and I've seen some rubbish in that time.Mind you I've seen some world class performances over the years to.So many that I will agree I'm spoilt and I hate Spurs playing rubbish.)

I know some great players have recently left but how on earth can the remainder lose it?New manager or not.What's happening on the training ground?
 
There is an amazing amount of negativity here. Three games do not make a season. Why do we need to make final conclusions based on such a small amount of evidence? The best team hasn't even played together yet and many of the players are still unfamiliar and/or unfit. This is not a good thing and probably should not have happened. *But why does this mean the situation will continue until the end of the season?* I said before and say again, please someone explain to me that West Brom are going to finish third this season? They are after all in 3rd place now. Yet apparently we're going to finish outside the top 6 (even lower according to some) because we're 14th now *after three games!* because somehow we're not going to get better. I tell you one thing though, if the crowd does not show its support, in fact quite the opposite, the team will be worried about playing at home. Home should be our fortress FFS. The point is you don't boo regardless of how bad they are, and as has been already said many times over, this is not as bad as its been in the past and not as bad as some other teams whose crowd do not boo. Does not make us look good for other fans and teams at all and will be something that will contribute to us not fulfilling our potential. Do you really want to fall into the TalkCrap trap with head-WUM Durham who now has instigated a "AVB hasn't got a clue" section?

I didn't want AVB as manager, I wanted Harry to stay. But more than anything I want Spurs to succeed and this means AVB needs to succeed regardless of what I think of him. This is because I am a *supporter*. I'm not saying people aren't entitled to an opinion, but I'm suggesting that there needs to be a bit more perspective based on where we are now compared to where we can get to. And that doesn't need to include a conclusion as if the season is already finished.
 
i agree completly,said more or less the same thing,3 games you cannot base anything on,you need at least till christmas
 
I've said some really negative things lately, but would never understand booing the team you back. I mean, say we do have a bad year. I'm still a supporter, and supporters don't boo...

Behind both my negative comments and the booing, I think, is a notable run of frustrating events.

1. Spurs blow a big lead for third, apparently because Arry won't rule himself out of the England job.
2. Spurs come within a hair, one single hair, of getting it all back, third place ahead of Arsenal, but miss via playing conservatively when tied and desperate for a win, and a keeper who couldn't play in a twelve and under league.
3. Spurs lose a CL spot because FFFFFFFIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGG Bayern can't FFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG figure out they might FFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGG want to keep a FFFFFFFFIIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGG eye on Drogba at the near post from a corner when up a goal with five minutes left. Then, of course, Bayern goes ahead on pens and loses.
4. Spurs sack their most successful manager in decades.
5. Spurs hire a big surprise package.
6. Spurs fail at the last moment to get the new manager's key player.
7. New manager plays two DMs at home. The team which looked wonderfully exciting last year looks dull and poor.

It is enough to make the frustration boil over. I'm over mine now, I think.

Why shouldn't we have high expectations after 3 games?? We sacked our best manager in ages so we could go to the " next level " according to our chairman
I support the team, have done through thick and thin. I'm not a big fan of AVB but he gets my support (well, not playing 2 DMs at home) I personally wouldn't boo but understand why some do, standards have been high for the last few seasons and we are supposedly on the "next level" now but as yet no sign of this on the pitch.
Anyone else think VdV was sold because he voices an opinion every now and then?? Just thinking maybe AVB nipped it in the bud before it started

Agreed, as I said, I don't boo but can fully understand those that do.

RWAEB made a good point about the run of frustrating events we've had. Letting 3rd slip, losing the CL place due to the CL final outcome, seeing our best manager for decades sacked, hiring a Chelsea flop, losing two of our star players and not getting the main target we wanted in the window... What makes things worse is the start to our season has been poor, personally I am blaming the manager, I've made no secret at the fact I'm not a fan of his and so on top of what's happened to the club over the past few months, we've now had to witness poor performances, bad team selections and poor treatment of a fans favourite. Things have just built up and so the fans are expressing their disappointment. AVB needs to sort it out VERY quickly otherwise I honestly do believe some will call for his head soonner rather than later and when that happens, the club has no choice (unless you're Blackburn <laugh>) but to react. Levy of all people has got a lot riding on this, he NEEDS AVB to be a success otherwise the media, fans and pretty much all of football will ridicule him for the decisions he's made.

In terms of Rafa going, I'm not sure whether it was down to the fact he voiced opinions or not, I just think Hamburg came calling with an offer Levy deemed acceptable (£10m is pathetic in my opinion but my opinion counts for nothing there) and therefore Rafa had a choice to stay here (where lets be honest, things haven't exactly been great lately) or join a club he holds in high regard... No brainer for him.

also what helped Rafa decide is his wife work's in Germany so he moved there to be with her,no other reason really as he was happy at Spurs
