If money is similar, wouldn't you choose Oz. He's on the wane but will still do a great job in Australia. He will be a big star and experience a new lifestyle with decent weather. He would only choose us if he wants a new challenge at the end of his career (or he has seen the DVD).
Precisely. He will only come to us if he's given a key role, which will surely not happen. Was great, still very good. Certainly better than Sharp! Anyway, we aren't rid of Sharp, he's on loan for a year, which might coincidentally be the amount of time Del Piero is useful.
exactly my point. However i haven't seen him play for a while, so don't know where he is at match time wise.
looks like it aint going to happen http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/sep/04/sydney-southampton-alessandro-del-piero?newsfeed=true
Why? There are so many advantages to going to Sydney over going to Southampton other than money. Chiefly: he'd be a massive star there. He's not even guaranteed games for us. It's a no-brainer.
I did see cortese having lunch today with an italian man. I was sat next to him, but i couldn't understand a word what they were talking about. The man he was with definitely wasn't del piero.
It would make headlines for a day or so then only football fans would care . Sydney is all about rugby league .
Can't see why we want him, when its not scoring goals thats the problem, its keeping the blooming thinks out of the back of our goal. In terms of his experience and presence, can he speak any English? Also I never rated him any way
No, not crazy - everywhere has its plus's & minus's and although its a great country for some Aussie has its share of problems as well. There are a lot of worse places than our country.
Looks like Liverpool are after him now: http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/footba...-to-poach-alessandro-del-piero-from-sydney-fc
Wanting sunshine and an easy life in a place where he can walk down the street without a press gang following him is fair enough at his stage of his career. He's won everything already. Whilst his influence and experience would be valuable, I wouldn't blame him for going to Australia.
What negatives are there about Australia? As long as you stay away from the outback and watch the wildlife, and to be fair it does seem a bit isolated and gets films, games and so on much later than the rest of the world but aside from that?
Not sure how well recieved he'd be at Liverpool after losing out on Dempsey. Sydney and Saints would welcome him with open arms.
