Does anyone know why we get these random nights where Alcohol hits us so effectively? Sometimes I drink vodka, approximately 10-12 shots worth, and even though I feel it a bit, I'm not satisfied, which leads me to giving it up for over a week, just to lower my alcohol tolerance so I can get a better buzz. But it never works. Today, I gave into the temptation. I drank last on sunday, and I originally planned to not drink again until this sunday. But I really wanted a drink tonight. I drank my regular amount, and felt so good. I felt so buzzed, nearly drunk, for quite a while. How do you make these sorts of nights occur more oftenly? I quite often feel frustrated that I don't feel much after a nights drinking.
All kinds of reasons. With alcohol (drugs and substances too) our mood directly effects its impact. Its less so with alcohol than it is with drugs. Cocaine for example can be very much a "mood" drug in terms of how you react. They've done all kinds of trials on how "mood" impacts on alcohol and drugs. Also as ACS mentions the type of food and amount of food you eat also impacts on it. Exercise can have a big impact. I remember when I used to smoke a bit of weed in my younger days, you always got more stoned after exercise. Probably because your blood is pumping the alcohol or drugs round your system quicker? I don't know if that is an accurate assumption but it'lll be along those lines.
I sometimes go for a run and then straight out after (getting changed of course).... I sweaet loads after the shower and seem to be half cut after the first pint.
So in conclusion, if you need a cheap night, do a massive work out and eat feck all. Then put on some party music. You'll be plastered in no time!
