If we were to go for him, I'd see him as our new David Connolly. Remember how many of the young players said they learnt from him being at the club? I agree, if his wages aren't ridiculous then I would be all for him signing on a short contract.
Del Piero has a whole heap of quality and bags of experience. If his wages were reasonable, I'd be all for bringing him in. He probably doesn't have the legs to see out 90 minutes, but he'd be an awesome option to have on the bench. We all saw how Scholes changed the game yesterday.

How much can he offer us from a playing perspective? Honestly I'd say not that much. But from experience to youngsters, he'd do incredibly, and how any honest football fan could turn down the chance to see someone like Del Piero at their club in whatever capacity is beyond me.

What an accolade! One World Cup, six Scudettos, CL winner, national hero, one of Italy's all-time leading goalscorers, but who would have thought the honour to top them all may come along so late in his career - "our new David Connolly"! Not just any old player gets one of those...![]()
