Saints played really well, they just couldn't handle van Persie, but it was a great game. The Scoucers still have major goal scoring issues, they barely troubled Mannone and Arsenal rarely needed to move out of first gear. With Ronaldo now out of the Premier League, I'd like to nominate Suarez as the most obnoxious twat in the league(closely followed by Nani).
If there's three teams I hate in the Premier League, it's Liverpool, Man United, and Aston Villa. It's fun to see two of those struggling.
still ferdinand for me, his face in slow motion celebrating the winner almost made me vomit....i needed man united to win for an accumulator yet i would have gladly give it up for them to lose, feels like blood money.
Liverpool are beyond a jokel. Suarez will be off soon and that's their last chance of winning anything gone.
http://twitter.com/philmcnulty "Rodgers then refused to completely dismiss the idea that he might move for Michael Owen. Intriguing press conference with Rodgers."
If memory serves me well there was an obnoxious tit from Saints on our board not so long back spraffing about what a big club they are and how we were nothing in comparison. No sign of that clown one notes to ones self. I hope they go down with Villa.
I think Liverpool will come good eventually. Lets not forget that Swansea have been playing that tiki-taka style for the past 4 or 5 years, and they've only just mastered it in the last couple of seasons. Hopefully the Liverpool board and fans will support Rodgers and let him build the team needed to play that kind of football.
Man U v Saints game was very watchable, but what a difference Scholes made when he came on. I know he has fresh legs, but he just took over the mid-field. Even Van Persie interview after the game made reference too it.
Slightly away from todays game, I was really impressed with Ben Marshall for Lesta against Blackpool, he certainly has a great right foot and can cross the ball.
I don't really see how Liverpool can "come good" if they have nobody to put the ball in the back of the net. Borini doesn't look anything special, Suarez has quality but he can't finish, then that young lad Sterling looks promising, but he isn't going to knock in 20 goals this season is he? Their only hope of doing decent this season is for Suarez to start banging them in - yet if he gets injured, they are well and truly up **** creek. I think Owen would go to Liverpool on a 'pay as you play' type deal. I think he would absolutely love the opportunity to prove himself one last time. Maybe it would work for Liverpool, they need a finisher.
Unfortunately the Scousers won't do that. They are the most demanding of crowds and patience isn't in their vocabulary.
The most obnoxious player in the Premier League is Ferdinand, massive ****. Liverpool will win the league within 4 years if they keep B. Rodgers in charge.
Arsenal were superb, their passing was first class, very rarely missing their target each time, the best I have seen the play for a while, Van Persie wasn't missed. Liverpool on the other hand are just like any ordinary Premiership side and how long before the voices start asking for Rogers to leave. Their passing was atrocious, Suarez is fighting a lone battle and even Gerrard seems to have lost heart, maybe they should have held on to Carroll a bit longer, or kept Torres. Manchester United have defensive problems these days, and it shows. They seem uncertain and unsure at the back but the a forward line like they have, who worries? Even if Rooney is out for a while. It reminds me of the days of Best, Law and Charlton, yes they scored the goals along with Brian Kid and Johnny Aston and Willie Morgan but their defense leaked like a sieve and it was a good job they had a goalkeeper of the quality they did in Alex Stepney. Even then with the likes of Nobby Stiles and Pat Crerand in defense they struggled at the back, as they seem to today.
Jamie Redknapp kept saying this on Super Sunday, but it seemed more hope than anything else. Richard Keys believes Owen is on his way to Celtic.
