Firstly, AVB in my opinion is the wrong manager for us...but that is just an opinion not a fact. Secondly, I think that Modric was always going to leave and VdV left for personal reasons so criticism of AVB on this score is weak and wide of the mark. Thirdly, Bassong and co. needed to leave as they weren't going to get first team football and gave us additional funds. Fourthly, Vertongen Adebayor, siggy, Demba, Lloris and Dempsey are good signings (although dempsey's comes across a little as desperate last minute thing) so he has done well on that level. Fifthly, booing at matches is pointless and after just 2 or 3 matches is senseless. Sixthly, the idea that Harry was a great man manager is kind of undermined by his treatment of: Corluka, Kranjar, Bent, Bentley, Gomes etc. He didn't get the best out of them, has isolated them, publically bad mouthed some of them etc. - I liked Harry but he made lots of tactical mistakes to go along with his man management mistakes. I personally have been against AVB being our manager from when it was first rumoured and I think it is normal and understandable that people feel the need to air their frustrations. We have played badly today ... especially in the first half. We were poor in the second half v WBA and it is the performances that have been disappointing. AVB is in an impossible position as the media want him to fail as it'll make a good story for the gossip pages and in my opinion I think that we are in for a bad season...similar to the one under Ramos (only without a trophy). However sacking him is not an option. We can not go back to the dark days of Francis, Gross, Bloke in a coat, Hoddle, Pleat, Santini, Jol, Ramos and redknapp between August 97 and Oct 2009 ... 9 managers in 12 years. I hope he is given time and proves to be a success but I think the pressure from the media, Levy and the fans will prove to be his down fall as it was at Chelsea.
Let's not forget who appointed him. If this all goes tits up, Levy has one hell of a lot to answer for!..
If it does all go pear shaped under AVB, I think the fans will turn on Levy this time around. He has to take the heat on managerial appointments and his track record is pretty patchy on that front to say the least!
"Have to be honest"..... We don't care if your honest "I really hate Spurs"..... We don't care if you hate Spurs "I'm trying to be fair".... Go and be fair some place else.
Ahhhh....cheers Banjan...**** me ... he can't be still holding a grudge cos we beat them 9-0 in 1977 can he? Colin Lee scored 4 in that match ... his debut too! Hence my name
It's 3 games in, ok we haven't won any but let's not panic too much just yet. Regarding the manager we aren't Chelsea, we can't afford to sack AvB and give him a massive payoff. I just worry that if AvB is sacked then Sherwood will be given the job.
Not happy with AVB so far. As for the Spurs hater - why? and why post here? Anyway thankfully we have an ignore button
Here here G10. With every passing game I despise him even more. Negative formations, awful team selections and worst of all, dreadful tactics. Not to mention he's continued his tradition from Chelsea of completely shafting the old guard - treatment of Dawson has infuriated me to a point of where I hope Dawson can get a move elsewhere, he doesn't deserve this. I never wanted AVB, I tried to think positive about him becoming our manager, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps at Chelsea, he did have a raw deal... How wrong was I. We may only be 3 games in but I would have expected to have seen signs of potential and progression today, instead, we looked far worse than the WBA game and even that was painful on the eye, today was a complete disaster, a total shambles of the "beautiful game". Yet again he opts for the 2 DM's at HOME to a f*cking mid-table team and we're treated to a nightmare for 90 minutes. I don't usually wish for people to be sacked at Spurs but Levy needs to act fast or risk seeing this Tottenham squad finish bottom half ( or God forbid even worse) in the league. Everyone associated with Chelsea must be absolutely p*ssing themselves, come to think of it, I think all opposition fans are. Levy sacked Harry for this...
As far as we know, Levy was largely responsible for his appointment, over many voices of doubt. If Levy wants to be trigger happy, he should maybe consider looking down his own barrel first!.
Code: How about everyone that is lucky enough to be going to the next match just cheers their ****ing head off regardless of the score. We played **** and lost under Harry and he didn't get booed. Either that or give up your ****ing tickets and let some proper fans have them. If you booed your team yesterday you should be ashamed Booing will just make the players tense and cause unrest. You are multiplying any problems you daft bastards
Hi guys, as a Liverpool fan we obviously went through the same as you at the beginning of the summer in looking at potential suitors for the manager's position. Who would have been your first choice personally? I know we all have different tastes. We were also linked with AVB for a while and I have to admit, I wasn't entirely against it at the time. Still plenty of time to turn things around and I think you will be alright this season.
I agree it does not help. As supporters we have few ways of showing our feelings . Why act in a blind authoritarian Stalinist stance, people have their right to show their displeasure. This may have deeper roots than the surface , it could be in way the whole club is being run.
