Baz you are trying to make the best of a poor situation which I appreciate, but I think that is us done for this window. And not bringing in a Striker is a bit of a joke!
Well I think teams will be fearing Spurs with three really good options in attack in Dempsey, Adebayor and Defoe a bit more than us with only two options up top, a striker who needs 10 chances to score and a young striker who's only played 1 full season of top flight football in his career so far. Then you move onto the wings where we've got Borini/Assaidi/Sterling vs Bale/Lennon/Dempsey. No contest there really is there, all 3 of Spurs wingers are currently better than our options there. I am quite confident that Spurs are better in every attacking area than we are and that teams will infinitely be more fearful of coming up against Spurs than Liverpool.
Yes, but what I'm saying is if he was a priority we would have signed him already. Even if it was a question of not enough money, we could have not signed Ossaidi and increased our bid from 4 to 6 million. Anyone actually beleive Rodgers would push Suarez out wide to accomodate Dempsey? I would see him as backup for Gerrard. He's not a striker anyway

Personally whether we sign anyone now or not - I see massive improvements in our squad. Our midfield options are far superior to last season, infact we have a ****ing amazing midfield. Carroll going without a replacement, seems a bit silly, that I do a agree on. But with BR bringing in the youngsters, particularly Sterling we have pretty good options for a front 3. Lets not forget Allen - who in my eyes from what I've seen of him so far is our best player. For his age his composure and awareness is second to none. He will make a huge difference this season. Add to that Sahin and the ass man...I'm feeling optimistic whether or not we sign someone. Yeah Dempsey would have been a nice addition - but do we really need him? I don't think so personally.
Spurs haven't looked that good at the moment and Assaidi/Sterling are still unknown so have that suprise factor about them which could put them 1 step ahead of opposition defenders. Also, teams might sit back and frustrate Spurs in the way they have done against us in the past and might come at us a bit more leaving more space for Sterling/Assaidi/Borini/Suarez to exploit and this will play into our hands. nothing wrong toh big names and Bale/Adebayor/Lennon are a threatening attack but who's to say that after playing a few games together that our front 3 wont strike up a brilliant partnership as well?
There better be a proper No.9 lined up. If not, the pitchforks will come out, the FSG out messages have already started.
Yossi gone back to West Ham on loan. Loved that guy when he was playing for us and shame we went to Chelsea and has hardly played at all through injury and just not being given a fair chance. I'm sure I just heard he's on 92k a week though?! Surely that can't be right, that's a ridiculous amount of money?
Because they aren't as good as players. And they don't have the goals in them to start for a team that wants to challenge for a top four position. You won't get anywhere fast if you don't have players who can score goals. Regardless of how good their partnerships or whatever are.
Is it a loan or a permanent deal? Not seen anything to suggest he could make it at Liverpool so a permanent deal would be better for all parties in my opinion.
Suarez can score goals. He's got 2 already and I think if he starts getting a few goals he'll soon find the net on a regular basis. Gerrard can still pop up with 10+ goals playing in that advanced role and Sahin can score 5+ goals as well. Assaidi scored goals for his previous club and is an unknown so who knows how many goals he'll get. I'd rather have 3 or 4 players all capable of r gttin 10+ goals than 1 player than can get 30. See with Arsenal if you put all your eggs in 1 basket that as soon as you lose them you start to struggle.
