Have people made there mind up on them yet I HAVE LFC will NEVER EVER win the League under these clowns, who are not far off being as bad as the last lot They havnt spent a f**kin penny this summer. We have knocked £25m PER YEAR, off the wage bill, this summer Offloading Carroll with no replacement is a f**kin disgrace, not gettin TWO is embarassing, not gettin one in FSG OUT time All they care about is MONEY, couldnt give a f**k about winning, low wages, not going for the best players, no new stadium I feel sorry for BR
Still got two hours but this it is not looking good at the moment. We really can't go 3-4 months with just 2 recognized strikers, unless the plan is to use youth?
I see someone has started donning their red nose and clown shoes before the window has closed. Perhaps you should look to last year's business to see why the owner's are being reluctant with their cash.
The only thing I don't understand is loaning Carroll out, the lad hasn't been given a chance. It felt as if last season the lad was starting to find his feet, if he was going to get replaced (I know there's 2 hours left) then fair enough, but the whole situation and the handling of it is just.. baffling.
How do you know it's FSG? Maybe Rodgers has said I value Dempsey at £5mil and Fulham want more and Rodgers is saying no thanks. We saw with Gylfi that BR won't give in even though FSG probably would have backed him and paid the wages wanted. Would you rather we panicked and spent a fortune on a player just because we haven't got anyone else? Or waited and made sure we got the right player at the right price. Remember we did a bit of business early on in Allen & Borini and have also got Sahin on loan with an option to buy. Add to that the young German forward we've just signed whose stats look very good.
Just to see how much money has been freed up: Aquilani - sold for £7m. Contract was about £100kpw = £12m+ Kuyt - sold for £1m. Contract was about £100kpw = £6m+ Bellamy - Free. Contract was about £90kpw = £4.5m+ Adam - £4m+. Contract was about £45kpw?? = £6m+ Carroll - Loan. Contract was about £90kpw = £4.5m+ Spearing - Loan. Contract was about £30kpw = £1.5m+ Maxi - Unknown fee. Contract was about £80kpw = £4m+ Aurelio - Free. Contract was about £50kpw = £2.5m+ Darby, Hatch, Rafferty, Amoo and Silva. Guess £1m+ in all That makes it about £42m+ freed up in sales and wages. By the looks of things we won't get anyone, maybe Dempsey at best, but that would be lucky. I really would like an explanation from the owners as to why we aren't getting a couple good strikers. I'm happy to be proven wrong tonight, but can't see it. Shameful business by our club.
Well it's now Reported that we will not make any signings tonight. Can't even sign the one damned player who was desperate to come to us. We have basically let a complete forward line leave this summer and replaced them with an unproven 21 year old,an unknown winger and a 18 yo kid. Sahin is probably packing his bags and thinking ' sod this thought I was coming to a team with ambition" We have slashed 1000's off our wage bill. We have let a potential match winner go out on loan for a year, taken money from the Adam sale and done absolutely nothing with it. Let's hope Suarez stays fit,Borini can score and Assaidi is as good as his YouTube video makes out he is. Otherwise, welcome to midtable mediocrity.
I think FSG are one of the positive things we have going for us tbh. It's true we need players, but I think Fulham are holding us to ransom and Chelsea are not interested.
If Liverpool claim they are not making anymore deals then Fulham might wise up and sell a player who no longer wants to be there, to the club he wants to join.
"not far off being as bad as the last lot ...We have knocked £25m PER YEAR" Still a while left to go and anyway we know as well as any not to pay over the odds at the last minute. If its too much then we leave it- its about the long term
Maybe just maybe they are waiting until we get back in the CL. They will only provide performance based funds, in other words they have learnt their lessons from last summer. Should we get back into the CL, which is worth a minimum £40 million to Liverpool, then we'll see a rise in spending. They want to spend CL money on CL players, not CL money on bottom 3 players like Alex Ferguson did on Young and Jones.
Because Rodgers said he needed a minimum of 3 strikers going into the season. Not wanted, needed. If a person is not given the tools he needs for the particular job then how is he expected to do it? He can't. FSG not putting their hands in pockets today has cost us the chance of champions league football next season.
Needed, but needed at the right price, otherwise we end up with another Carroll. A panick buy that every knows is overpriced but we did because we just paid what ever someone wanted in order to get them signed. I'd rather we didn't spend and waited for Jan / next summer to get the right people at the right price than splash out £10mil for someone now and then sell them for half of that in a years time.
Will say it looks like Eccleston and Pacheco will be off as well, so another forward and attacking player to be off. We have to get someone in, we really have to.
Well if you consider the turnover of the club as well, the owners seem to have made a big profit this year.
By which time the likes of Agger, Skrtel and Suarez have decided, hey **** this, why should I stay with a club who won't even stump up the extra £1m for a transfer when I've got the offer of going to a Man City, Barcelona or a Juventus to a club with actual ambitions of challenging at the top level. Then we've got the right player in one position we end up having to replace the other three all because of a million or two. Our squad is on course to finish 7th/8th again because we only have 2 senior strikers, one who has only got 1 full season of top flight experience and one who is wildly inconsistent infront of goal, prone to picking up cards for petty reasons AND has been playing non stop (almost) since 2010 what with the world cup, copa america then olympics so will inevitably be tired in parts of the season. The other one is our first choice winger, so we've not no option of changing our striker options in game, which is something thats quite crucial. Especially when your first choice striker is so inconsistent infront of goal.
Borini playing out wide and Suarez in the middle, we will literally have no strikers on the bench lol. My prediction of 6th this season seems optimistic atm.
