Not even £6m, just the £1m. They had received £5m from Adam sale just this morning.

Im an optimist but I can't help but feel disappointed that our owners failed to bring more players in.

Rodgers clearly wanted more players in and I suppose Ayre can only negotiate with the resources available. Seriously unimpressed with the owners for not backing the manager. We're not asking for £100m for a couple of players. An extra £1m for a player would have been enough to secure his services.

We have offloaded a lot of players and surely the proceeds would have been enough to cover the costs. Very worrying. There is still 40 mins left so I should hold my breath but I don't anticipate any more signings.

I thought I read somewhere, that Dempsey was a Liverpool player? Spurs signing your targets again! Borini is capable of getting goals, and is a far better finisher than Suarez, Rodgers knows that to, Suarez is the most annoying player you have, good free kick though against city, thought you played well, Joe Allen seems to have been with you for yonks!................... <cheers>

Are squad as it stands
1. Jones
2. Johnson
3. Enrique
4. Sahin
5. Agger
7. Suarez
8. Gerrard
10. J Cole
11. Assaidi
14. Henderson
16. Coates
19. Downing
21. Lucas
22. D Wilson
23. Carragher
24. Allen
25. Reina
29. Borini
30. Suso
31. Sterling
32. Doni
33. Shelvey
34. Kelly
35. Coady
36. Eccleston
37. Skrtel
38. Flanagan
42. Gulacsi
47. Wisdom
49. Robinson
50. Morgan

To me this seems very small 31 players Eccleston has gone Doni sounds like he has gone as well so thats 29 Coady, Wisdom and Suso havent really played in the first team and Wilson doesnt seem to be in plans either so thats 25 player which includes 3 keepers so only 22 outfield players to compete in 4 competitions.

I honestly can't believe it. Carroll is not the best striker in the world, but he was ours. We've let him go for **** all gain to replace him with nothing.

Why leave everything til the last day, a striker was clearly missing, do we even have a proper one now?

There have been few occasions in the past 3 years where the club have done something to make me believe anyone had a ****ing clue what they were doing.

Bow, right now I would take Owen. I hate the greedy test but at least he'd give us an option.

I wish I still audited the club, then I might be able to find out what the **** is going on!

They have made Brendan look like a right twat.

I think Brendan should do a Shankly and offer his resignation.

Brendan hasn't exactly done himself many favours either. Some of the things he's come out and said have been criminal and show signs of him being very naive.

Sorry, but this is piss poor management from top to bottom (not just Liverpool, but all clubs that leave it till the last minute), identify early who you want and get it sorted no later than second week into pre-season, I hope Liverpool aren't part of the frenzied activity come the January transfer window because I would hope that any business they wish to conduct is performed early in that month!

Frustrated of Wycombe!

@thisisanfield: Brendan Rodgers 8 hours ago: “There’s no doubt we need to add goals to the team."

@thisisanfield: Brendan Rodgers 8 hours ago: “Getting recognised goalscorers to come in is the number one objective.” -- Why did this not happen?

Because of the above statements I do think that the club should make some kind of explanatory statement if we aren't bringing anyone in (in ten minutes lol)

It's either:

BR stating that it was his valuation & decision not to pay more despite statements above to acquire additional strikers and why it's now not an issue.

OR if it wasn't him & BR really wanted these two players:

Ayre comes out and apologises to BR and the fans for not doing his job properly. The manager or players get criticized for failure or letting the club down; why shouldn't he or the owners if they blocked funding???

I cannot imagine it was Rodgers, you can not tell me he was fishing around looking to improve the squad with a player he values no higher than £4mill.

My only thinking is whoever was in charge of the negotiation thought Fulham would fold and except whatever we offered close to the deadline as Dempsey clearly wanted out, how stupid does that person look now?

I think it's time for Pacheco to come through, sure he's still young but he's a talented forward. This is all Dalglish's fault, spending so much on over-valued, over-rated players, from clubs that took advantage of our situation at the time, of course we needn't have paid what they were asking, but the guy was so out of touch from his dealings with the media, the Suarez situation and transfer policy. Now more than ever true fans of the club need to support this manager and this squad. We can't suddenly say the managers and the owners are inept, stingy or deluded, we are just suffering from years of bad decisions and bad management but I believe they are now trying to rectify this and provide some stability. Of course there are always some deals announced after the window closes. Hello by the way, this is my first post.
