Twitter suggests we're after Michael Essien. If this was 5 years ago i would be happy, not the fat washed up one who exists now.

So I've just seen this picture posted on a different site. My first thought is that it's a photoshop but who knows

I know i'm being controversial but i wouldn't want Cesc Fabregas anywhere Arsenal.I can never forgive him for the total disrespect he showed to our club before he left.As far as i'm concerned he can rot on the bench at Barcelona

Its funny because of ALL the players that left Arsenal in recent years, I think Fabregas was one of the MOST respectful.

He was that respectful that he went to the Spanish Grand Prix rather than attend our last game of the 2010-11 season. He also basically went on strike for the pre-season of the 2011-12 season
What ever people may think of Nasri at least he played for the team until he was transfered

Essien could be a genius buy.

A few years ago people were calling him the very best in his position in World Football. He's had a couple of injury ravaged seasons and is no longer first choice at Chelsea.

* Defensive midfield is traditionally a role where players reach their peak at this position in their early 30's. (Keane, Mathaus, Simeone, Makelele, Beckenbauer etc..)

It all comes down to wether he is over his injury problems or not.

The guy has had 3 cruciate knee ligament injuries in his whole career, at least 2 have been on the same knee, its difficult to get back to a high level after that, would be a big risk as I suspect he will be on high wages.

I don't agree with this one I'm afraid. If he was anywhere near his best form, he would still be on the pitch for Chelsea.

Chelsea despite having loads of players banned and injured, did not use him in the CL final for a reason, the guy is past it.

According to David Ornstein of the BBC, M'Vila will definately not be transfered during this window so he's not coming to Arsenal

So the Ligue 1 player we're after according to Camden must be Yanga M'Biwa. unless le boss is after someone we haven't been linked with at all.
