No, it's just miserable arsehole fans that think the managers are **** when they lose one cup game, then when that manager leaves they say they never liked him anyway
We all need to get behind Bruce, he is still to bring in players and is in the process of moulding a team
Whoever got the job was on a hiding to nothing from some fans, Fans who are very bitter about the Barmby saga.
This ^^^^^^^^. Although the facts seem irrelevant when you consider some of the embarrassing knee-jerk reactions we've been getting lately. Basically so far we've had: 1) Bruce becomes manager ---- Needs time to mould NP/NB's teams to his style ---- Most on here seem optimistic and willing to give him that time. 2) We scrape through the first round of the league cup ---- No-one seems bothered because the manager and the team are still finding their feet. 3) We beat strongly fancied Brighton in our first league game ---- Everyone happy / Confidence is building. 4) We lose 1-0 away to strongly fancied Blackburn after dominating the game ---- The first moans are beginning already. 5) We draw 0-0 away at fancied Charlton after dominating the game and making plenty of chances ---- Some are still moaning. 6) We lose 3-2 away to Doncaster in the league cup after being 2-0 up ---- The Bruce haters are out in force with their knives already sharpened. There's no doubt quite a few on here have an agenda against the new manager and want him out, no matter how badly that effects our season. The rest of us are willing to give him at least as long as NB was given, considering he has a big job to reshape our team from mis-firing play-off wannabes to real promotion candidates.
I won't turn on Steve Bruce until he has at least 2 seasons .... If we lose on Saturday , Big deal . Good job Man United never listened to the Fergie out Brigade in his first couple of seasons..
What utter rubbish. ^^^ this. I am glad we are out of the toy town cup actually. But agree we should not have chucked away a 2-0 lead. Wait for round 3 draw, it may well turn out to be a blessing. Carlisle or Coventry away ? No thanks. As for Bruce OUT, well only the wums and the clueless would want this to happen.
Bloody hell you lot are as bad as us. Have a bit of faith and at least give the manager a chance 3 games in and you want him to be sacked. It's ridiculous Both Bruce and Pearson need to be given til christmas at least before people get on their back
Some fans are still crying that Barmby left, who in fact was a highly inexperienced manager who was stubborn and didn't like to change his tactics despite them not working, he was an exceptional player but he was a poor manager in terms of tactics
I think some are taking this thread rather too seriously, there's some very tongue in cheek comments on here.
That's an easy cop-out OLM to be honest. If you're not willing to stand by the comments you make you shouldn't make them in the first place.
I would have thought that having posted 'it's very easy to wind people up on here, it's fun not being a grown up' would have been a bit of a clue as to the nature of what I was posting. For the record, I don't like Bruce, never did, never made any secret of it either. I don't want to see him gone because of the results of our recent games, I'd rather he'd never been appointed, but as it's my team, I'll have to make the best of it now and losing one poxy cup game doesn't affect my opinion one iota.
I certainly don't think Bruce should be sacked, but he must know that frankly, if we don't finish in the top 6, that's a failure of a season. Barmby almost got us there, with Pearsons squad and no cash. Bruce has had time to build his own squad and cash. I'm really not that bothered about losing to Donny, although conceding 3 to Donny with the likes of Chester, Faye and Dudgeon all playing bothers me. This 3-5-2 is ****e. I strongly believe we should play the same way at home that we do away. Our back 4 was immense last season, why switch it to a back 3 or back 5. Why moan about not scoring goals and then only play 3 attacking players. I want to see us go 4-4-2 and we have to start playing Simpson from the start of games.
I just don't like football as much as I used to... I used to spend the whole week looking forward to Saturdays, I just don't get that anymore. Some days last season it felt more like a chore than a hobby, it feels like that now. Strange.
You also wrote: "Never liked him, we just sacked a manager who was passionate about this club and replaced him with someone who doesn't give a **** about us." And "Tonight makes no difference to me, I didn't rate our manager before the season started and he's gone downhill in my estimations since it did start." Which are your opinions and I respect them (while not agreeing with them), but don't come this "I was only winding people up" bullshit because quite frankly it's cowardly.
I agree about the formation - we had one of the best defences in the league last year, but couldn't score, so he sacrifices a winger to add an extra defender! Doesn't make sense. I hope he brings in another winger and goes back to 4-4-2 both home and away. Only other thing bugging me about him is that he sounds quite stubborn with regards to strikers - it's obvious without Fryatt, we lack someone who will score consistently, yet there hasn't been a single mention by him that a striker is something he's going to look at. If Fryatt's injury takes a while to heal, by the time he's back, it could be the difference between say, mid-table and the play-offs.
Im not thinking it! Im glad were out of that crappy cup, lets concentrate on the Lge, the only down side os that we have lost Tom Cairney for a long time, and McKenna for 3 games! I will be 100% behind the manager and the team, i support my team through the good and the bad times.
