Yes, excessive quantities of beer, and ridiculously hot head banging curries, do seem to have a certain connection! Usually because the latter seems like a great idea, having already consumed the former.

Indian food, the only cuisine on earth that looks less appetising before it goes in than it does after it comes out.

Other countries with spicy food (i.e. Mexico, Thailand, Malaya) at least make it edible...

Well.... My chicken curry has raised an eye brow of satisfaction...I'll tuck in later...I must say this thread started as a '**** you' to a wum but became a very good read and DL you did it again didn't you!

    Tried to derail the thread!

And the transfer speculation has an article assigned for it...and it is not 'The Bill Nick'...I'm onto you!

Sorry I thought I had posted it on the transfer thread. I had two Not 606 tabs up at the time so put it on the wrong one.

Dona the conspiracies are getting ridiculous now anyone can see it was a genuine mistake.

Let's get back to the Curries <ok>

    I think he was kidding.

There's room for transfer rumours and curry on this thread. I hear we're interested in Naani <whistle>

FFS, Redknapp is apparently going to be on SSN casting his opinion on Modric's move.

is this ever going to stop?

Yum!!! all this talk since this morning, jeez I've been slavering allday. Just finished a lovely caribbean chilli beef curry...:D

SD - yes, Pathia is Persian as is Dhansak its the same! well the sauce is, only difference is that Dhansak has less sauce as its cooked with lentils which absorb more. They still use Ceylon on the menu's, long since Sri Lanka of course, not a great fan of fruit in curries though.

Not until Fat Sam is sacked and he takes the West Ham job.

The media are obsessed with Arry and love him.

Even though the media much prefer Spurs to Chelsea I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if AVB came under some sort of scrutiny soon. I never liked the guy but some of the headlines and bullying tactics the press used were way OTT. I hope he doesn't have to go through that again

For your information, Harry actually rebuilt a lot of damaged relationships between Spurs and certain media outlets. When Harry arrived, things were at an all time low between the club and the media, with at least 3 newspapers banned from the Lane and certain press privileges withdrawn for several senior journalists.

When the Tottenham Supporters Trust group met with Daniel Levy at the end of 2010, they expressed concern that Harry was getting 'carried away' with his media interviews, and Levy said the views of himself and the directors of the club, was they were delighted he was doing this as it was of great benefit to the club, they enjoyed the higher profile and they appreciated the better press he was generating.

That he continued to take a higher profile and this higher profile was geared towards himself over the club, cannot be disputed.

There are a lot on here who wish us Harry fans would stop mentioning him. As a Harry supporter, I wish his critics would stop moaning every time he now talks about us on TV. That's what he does. That's what he has always done. That's the way he is. Live wth it. It's not as if he's slagging us off.

This won't happen to the extent it happened at Chelsea because the majority of the fans and players will not give the media much fuel for their desired fire.

    Spurcat, evening <ok>

I got no problem with anyone appreciating Harry and what he did for our club...gave us some great memories...the end was as is well documented.

I'm not a Harry hater, and I doubt many of us are...I just don't want Harry to become another stick that AVB is beaten by when things don't go well for us...as has been the case at times because for me I am not doing my bit if I am not giving the new man a chance...I think there is a difference there.

I do understand that there is nothing wrong with discussing Harry...or anything else Harry related.

    Hello Spurlock <ok>

I don't usually get heated over the Harry situation because it's still very delicate on both sides of the fence, but on this occasion I felt the "FFS" was uncalled for.

I have seen interviews with all those who were sacked in the summer - Harry, Bond, Jordan and Allen, and all have had words put in their mouth by the interviewers and none have said a bad word against us. I respect them for that and I like to think others will do the same.

We all know we have to give AVB time - doesn't mean it comes easy to some of us !!

    <ok>

As far as DL's point, the British media, is the British media, AVB should not have took another job in England if that was a problem. I can't see that it will be, there will be stuff written, but he must be fully aware of that, its not going to be all rosy for sure, but probably doesn't care much about what they write...I don't!

As far as Harry is concerned, tbh, its just another pundits view, Ian Wright had his say today, and as SC points out, I do doubt if Harry would be intentionally anti, or use his position to have a pop, if it is a negative view discussed by him, no doubt it'll be justified and neutral, but, I fully expect some fans to take umbrage to anything said like that.

Fair enough and I respect such behaviour also...I think over time once the emotion has left us we will all be along the same lines.

I know we've all been caught up with our mad dash for players but Luongo scored the opener against Carlisle tonight. Lovely curling shot from outside the area <ok>

I know someone who works at Ipswich and they are very pleased with Luongo and press reports on Ipswich's games confirm he has made a good start there.

However, it is very difficult for a young player to go from playing once every fortnight as Luongo was last season, to playing at Championship level every week and most midweeks, as part of a 46 game league season. Not saying he can't do it, but it's a big step for a young player and many have struggled with this.
