sure he will be back at a prem. club in the summer,

if bruce gets the boot, try and get him at safc. but at the moment i still want bruce.

however MoN will be at the sol next season, either with us or bringing his team to visit...

THE MORE COMMENTS I READ FROM YOU THE MORE I AM STARTING TO DISLIKE YOU FOR YOUR PERSONAL ATTACKS ON OUR SUPPORTERS WITHOUT FOUNDATION, INDEED YOU HAVE TWICE NOW MADE ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT ME THAT ARE NOT TRUE,

Why do you do it, read all my back posts, i don't attack anyone but the mags, just because i don't agree with what you say, in your eyes i am wrong, then proceed to belittle me, keep it up son and i will unleash a torrent upon you never seen before, so there is no need for it, if you feel like commenting do so but refrain from being nasty, or suffer the consequences.

Says he, who is one of the most vocal on this board in his criticism of Henderson, Zenden, Bardsley, Mignolet etc. Do you realise just how much of a hypocrite you are with your statement above?

You have the right to disagree with someone elses opinion and that is fine. What is bang out of order, is you responding in your usual aggressive manner towards fellow SAFC supporters. Save your aggression for the skunks!

    Well said Roger <ok>

    Try it.

Your comments on our team are unfounded. You say you support the team but "proceed to belittle" our manager, Bruce. You're on the bandwagon, and as soon as the results turn around, you'll leave it and love Brucey again. Read back your posts from the last two or three weeks, its whinge whinge whinge about team, tactics and Bruce. You should try getting behind the team, I imagine you're one of the boo boys too.

AS I said IN MY OPINION, you need to get a grip of reality.

TBH, expressing views is what this board is all about. I'm not here to make friends. I say it as I see it, and what I see is people on the Bruce out bandwagon, bringing this board down, and making us look like fools to other supporters on this website.

Bruce is our manager. He is part of the team. I've suffered the backlash for my views on Henderson, before christmas I mentioned he was not the player to take us forward, and slowly but surely, after berating me and insulting me, people came around to the view he isnt as good as everyone first thought. Do I not have the same option? Can I not attempt to get people to back the team? Support not boo? Is that the wrong thing to do?

I am a far from regular contributor to this site (or any others if I am being honest) but it seems to me that there must be a big question mark over Bruce. Last year I had (by Xmas) got used to the idea that we were not going to be involved in a relegation fight then we began a winless streak of how many (14 was it?). This year we were talking about Europe at one stage (just before the current winless saga began).

It just seems to me that Bruce can do a decent job early on in a season when everyone is fit, keen to play for their place and "up for it". What he can`t do is manage a team once it has hit a problem patch - for whatever reason (and it isn`t the amount of cash he`s had available) those he has brought in can`t hack it (I include Gyan in that as well as he can`t play the role asked of him), he can`t change a losing pattern either between or during games and the decision to sell Bent without having someone lined up to replace him was naive at best.

I want us to do well and hope that Bruce is the one to help with that but I fear he may not be. Maybe the demise was part of him being awarded a new contract - seemed to coincide with the slump in form. Personally I would like to see him stay and the cash saved from not having to pay him off invested in the team but the powers that be and those who work with him day in day out need to form an honest view on whether there have been issues beyond his control here (and I do not include the squad in that) which explain why what is happening has been allowed to continue.

Sorry for the ramble - just re-read it.....keep Bruce but only if there are decent explanations as to why this slump has happpened, if not he has form for it and we deserve better (not sure who though MON would work for me though).

Anyway - the sun's out, time for a beer

There you go again with assumptions and casting aspersions, you really are dopey, i love my team have done before you were in nappies, never loved Bruce but if he is good for our team ill be quiet, hes not good for the team check the poll, i do get behind the team problem is the manager is not up to the job in my eyes.

So in closing any more personal attacks from you and ill be on your case, and you should apologize for what you said to Cuteybuns, if your man enough, and not a pm do it here. For your information never booed the boys in my life, and in your opinion, i need to get a grip dooohhhh. you should proof read what you write, then take the aggression out towards fellow supporters.

If you have suffered backlash on here it is only your fault the way you word your articles and replies, the guys on here are nice and don't attack their own, apart from one exception,

Chill out and lose the aggression in your words, or youll end up on another site as no one will listen to you, just my advice son take it or leave it its up to you

I suffered backlash because, at the time, everyone though he was ENGs poster boy and a credit to the club. Its funny how people's views change. I keep things real, people are acting like this is life and death but IN REAL LIFE this is just a phase, we will get a win. Bruce isn't going to be sacked, he's just got a bumper contract, and has the backing of SNQ and Ellis, the Bruce Out Brigade, who come and go will once again slink under their rocks and return when things are bad. Thats not support. It's criticism.

I'm not your son, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't refer to me as that.

    <laugh> lot of anger here.

on topic, i think o'neill is a top quality manager, with a proven track record of turning middling epl clubs into good ones, and the fact that he's available, ready to come back to management, and a boyhood sunderland fan?? bumper new contract or no bumper new contract, if i were brucie i wouldn't be sleeping easy at the minute.

sad fact is as well that the longer we struggle, the more speculation is going to rear it's ugly head, and that won't help a team whose moral is shot to **** as it is.

for me, it's bruce in, for now, and see where he gets us come the end of may. last thing we want to do is bring in a messiah for our last few games and it to backfire on us, like our beloved neighbours did last time they were "too good to go down".

Bruce simply has to stay in my view, certainly until the end of the season. That is the time to re-evaluate and analyse where it all went belly up. It's his team and he must have the chance to improve our current position. Yes, its been abysmal, yes I've wanted to throw my season ticket in the bin (particularly after West Brom), and yes I've questioned whether Bruce should stay or go plenty of times. But in the cold light of day 3 wins and a draw will see us shoot up the table and I'm praying we get them starting tomorrow, which is as 'must win' as you can possibly get.

Can I just set the record straight on one thing, Martin O'Neil is not a Sunderland supporter, his favorite player was Charlie Hurley and that is why he followed Sunderland. I attended a Celtic talk in as a guest of a Celtic supporter and i actually asked him if he was a Sunderland supporter, his team is actually his home town team of Distillery.

When Hurley moved to Bolton Wanderers then any allegiance O'Neil had to Sunderland moved to Bolton.

He could take us to another level, however Bruce can do that - he did it for much of the season lest we forget - injuries and the sale of Bent did for us.

Bruce is still learning his trade, if we go on another run next year then that is the time for him to go.
